  1. As Michael Jordan once said, "I'm back!" Although the kids look a lot happier than I do. It was pretty hot. I'm going to have to start curling my mustache again. It gives me a "happy face" like I'm smiling even when I'm not. That, and my smile in general isn't a big one and doesn't really show any teeth, etc.

  3. Hoppy Birthday Jeff! Cheers! EDIT: I've asked for help on the thread title because auto-correct screwed it up.

  4. Remembered to go to the gun show; bought a gun; went to the gun range with Jeff; shot said gun, plus a couple of Jeff's. "I came here a couple of weeks ago for the cat show." "Oh yeah, what was that like?" "Oh, just like this, except with cats instead of guns." I make myself laugh sometimes. Odysseys are great vans, there's a reason they're ubiquitous. Just imagine if TicketBastard was involved with selling cars.

  6. Belgian Beef Stew on realsimple.com. I used more bread than the recipe specified but stirred very little while in the oven to leave the bread intact but soaked. I then took a slice of bread from the top and put it in each bowl. I mixed the remaining bread into the stew before serving it up because the bread is traditionally melted and incorporated into the stew.

  8. I saw Spirit of the West in Regina on Friday. They've been around for 30+ years, and are very influential on the Canadian folk-rock scene. I've been listening to them on and off for 20 years, and they're one of Eleanor's favourites. This song is a pub and social staple, and we Canucks consider it the undisputed national anthem of partying: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sPJD3qcIL7s It was an amazing concert, super-energetic. A bunch of us who were stuck in the cheap seats ended up rushing the stage, so there were about 150-200 of us dancing in front of a mostly-seated room. John Mann, their lead singer, went public a couple of months ago that he has early onset Alzheimer's disease after battling cancer. He's 51 years old. He's still performing and even writing songs, but he doesn't play the guitar anymore and he uses an iPad through the entire show to help him remember the lyrics. It's really sad to see that happen to anyone, let alone such a talented musician who otherwise would probably have another 20 years of playing left in him, but it's really inspiring that his band is supporting him and helping him keep doing what he wants to do. His voice is still amazing, and his performance is still really passionate. I hope I get to see them at least one more time before he can't do it anymore.

  11. I baked some bread and fucked it up. I learned two lessons: 1) Don't forget the salt when making bread, tastes terrible. 2) Don't bake sober, you are more likely to be confident and forget things.

  12. I've got another section of Canare L4E6S ordered so I can wire up a balanced cable. Single ended it sounds pretty good with LCD2, maybe seems a bit bright. I'll need to double blind with the KSA5 to see if it's just me. I'll take your advice and swap to balanced input at some point. Switch is from ebay here: http://www.ebay.com/itm/151028998690 Jumpers? I added two for the sense right at the unit....is there one that comes off? Voltage is a little low, 13.3 is what I'm getting out of it now. I'd be in for a 4deck 10K if the price is reasonable.
