Agree. After listening to the JH13 out of the Sansa Clip+ for about 10 days during my holiday travels, I sat down today with the home setup (ECD-1 and GS-1) for some time. After many cds I was thinking that maybe I should get rid of this excess clutter (WA5-LE, HD800, HD650, AD2000, ... ). In the end, I realized that I would just end up buying more clutter to fill its space.... but, yeah, they are much better than I imagined any IEM could possibly be and more.

Spent a lot of time listening to the ECD-1 > GS-1 > JH13 setup, so good. I went for a long walk (great weather here), took some pictures along the way. Then, I dusted off the soldering setup and worked on the SOHA II that has been in the works for, what seems, a lifetime. It felt good. Finished off the day with some spaghetti and red wine. Now to watch a movie and maybe have an after dinner drink. Nice day overall.

You shouldn't pay CA sales tax from amazon or bhphoto though, right? Glad I got the amazon deal before it was too late. Perhaps they stopped it because they ran out of lenses. I love amazon prime free 2-day shipping!

I just got this exact setup from amazon for $1289.94 (instant $250 off when you buy both the D90 body and the 18-200 VR lens). I thought the amazon deal was supposed to last until Jan 2 but they don't seem to have it on the website anymore. As for the camera and lens, I just got mine in the mail yesterday and have been shooting away. It is great!

What kind of Brie? I used to get St. Andre Brie all the time but lately I've been getting Fromager d'Affinois instead - excellent creaminess.

Mike: The Canon 7D looks like a super sweet camera. I better spend some time before choosing a bag. Thanks Nate for the advice about the diffuser.

I bought my partner a Kindle 2 (non-DX) for Christmas and as Wayne said above, I have a DX and I love it. Using the non-DX version, I am definitely glad I got the DX. I like using the larger font (2nd to largest) since I often read with a book light in the dark. Using a large font on the Kindle 2 means changing pages more often. I don't find the Kindle DX to be too heavy. Of course, if I carry the Kindle DX, I pretty much always carry it in my backpack along with my Macbook Pro so the Kindle doesn't really add much weight. Most of the time, I use my Kindle at home though. I could imagine if one were reading on the subway, the Kindle 2 would be much better than the Kindle DX. One thing that I use my Kindle DX is for reading/searching through math papers in PDF format. In my mind, it would be very difficult to do this on the non-DX version because the screen would be too small. I also really like the auto-rotation on the DX but could live without it.

Nikon D90 (body only) Nikon 18-200mm f/3.5-5.6G ED VR II AF-S DX Lens 8GB SD card (30MB/s) B+W UV filter I will probably get the SB-600 flash at some point. Just trying to give my bank account a little bit of relief after the holidays. Also, need to get a bag. I have an old camera bag that will probably work for now but think I would like a toploader. Thinking about the Lowepro Toploader Pro 70 AW (I think the 65 is perhaps too small) or the Lowepro Topload Zoom 2.

Pretty mellow day with the in-laws. Slept in, returned gifts, and installed Ubuntu eee on my father-in-law's very slow Asus eee netbook (much faster than XP so far).

I could definitely see the iTablet replacing laptops and home computers for the average person (as the iPhone has already started to do).

I agree with Jin. I almost always have my computer with me but hate reading on it even though it has a nice big 15" screen. On the other hand, I absolutely love reading on my Kindle DX! After having my Kindle for some time, I had to buy a real paperback book (a book in a series that I am reading that is not out in Kindle format). I have about 20 pages left in the book and have vowed never to read a paperback again. Hardbacks are ok because the font size is reasonable and they tend to stay open without much force. I may buy a Apple iSlate iTablet iBook (whatever it is called) but I don't see myself reading complete books on it. Also, I like that I am not distracted by media or the internet when I am on the Kindle and love the *long* battery life. Of course, I may be totally wrong. I didn't think I would like the Kindle very much.

Had my first Christmas this morning (I am celebrating Christmas with my family today and then jumping on 6am flight tomorrow morning to Annapolis to spent Christmas evening with my partner and his family). We opened gifts and then I spent the rest of the morning putting together Zhu Zhu pets stuff and a Barbie Dream House for my niece. I need a nap.

I am trying to be conscious of the "weight issue" as I deciding but right now I have the DSLR itch so I am not sure a small camera like this will satisfy. I made a stop at the local winery out here in the So Cal burbs (Joseph Filippi Winery). Bought a bottle of 2005 Big Joe Barrel Blend #3 to take to Christmas dinner in Annapolis, MD. I am a fan a full bodied reds and this hit the spot. The Petit Sirah and Zin I tried were a little too light for me and had a bit of earthiness taste that didn't set so well with me (maybe Eucalyptus?). Cannot remember much about the Cab Franc anymore. The Velluto blend was also nice but since I will be checking this on the plane to MD, I didn't want to buy more than one bottle. Oh, and the tasting was free!

I used my friend's Modbook and they are pretty clunky. They are also missing good software for note taking (I tried installing Xournal "Windows Journal for Linux" on it via Fink but it did not, at least at that time, recognize the pen) and they don't have touch capabilities. I thought about getting one very seriously at some point but decided on an LE1700.

Looking forward to your impressions Wayne. After owning the 2005 990's and 770 pro's (stock and "Darth" Beyers), I am not expecting much from the T1's but I am keeping an open mind.
