  1. Funny, this is why I chose light translucent blue for mine, very stealthy for a smurf, but not too bad for a very white person.
  2. Be different: muddy water blue
  3. Ok, thanks for the clarification.
  4. Answer=RB: I think GH is only for 2 players max whereas 4 people can make a fool of themselves while playing RB. Of course, as already stated, one should have lots friends around of alcohol consumed while playing.
  5. Dinny, sorry to hear that you DIY project didn't go so well. A few years ago, I also unsuccessfully installed a new battery on an ipod mini.
  6. Looks like fun guys and gal, wish I could have made it!
  7. Sigh, I put a Samsung LN52B750 in my amazon cart a few days ago at $1699.99 and now it is up to $1,929.00. I guess I will be waiting a while before I buy. I don't have time to deal with messing with the living room setup right now anyway. Note to self: must remember to use the HC link to amazon if I buy a tv from them.
  8. I wish I had different colors for left/right. I like the idea of mixing 50% translucent black.
  9. Easy to solve: move 1500 miles away from all your family.
  10. ^ Congrats and its about time. I just got a nice *little* package in the mail. I will try putting the amp and ps perpendicular to one another.
  11. Good choice. I imagine the Netflix streaming ability is better on the Samsung than on the PS3 (where you need to have the Netflix disk loaded).
  12. Thanks Ari, I will try this later tonight. Unfortunately, I don't think that I can put the amp and PS on opposite site because ps umbilical cord isn't long enough (it connects at the let side of the ps and the right side of the amp). I could put one more rack on my stand and put them on different shelves (one above one another) but don't know if that would improve things.
  13. Glad to hear the Cary came back to life.
  14. Good news here. I moved the amp and ps so they are 6" away from one another (farthest I could move them without completely changing my setup). The hum is almost completely gone with the HD800 (didn't try the JH13's) in the high jack (and completely silent in the low jack - like it was before). There is still a very slight amount of hum in the left channel but the right channel seems to be silent. At least I am making progress. I think this calls for a ....
  15. Here are some bigger pictures I found on HF of a "custom" WA5-LE (LE version has no speaker or K1000 output). I can open mine (completely stock except for tubes) up and take some pictures of mine at some point but I am supposed to be working right now. According to the owner, custom means: - Woo Audio Premium Parts Upgrade - 2x Yamamoto UX4 Gold Sockets - 4x Yamamoto Octal Gold Sockets - 4 pair WBT-0210 Cu Ms RCA Sockets - Alps RK-50 HighEnd Potentiometer (So no real changes to the circuit I guess.)
  16. Do you think it may help to try and move the amp farther away (a few inches) from the power supply? Here is how it is situated right now: When the Fedex woman delivered the amp/power supply the boxes were on top of one another. My partner watched her slide one box off the other and let it drop to the ground (so it dropped about a ft or two). Could this have caused a problem or caused something to come loose enough to cause some hum? The amp/ps were packed pretty well - lots of foam and wooden crates. I want a dead silent tube amp.
  17. Thanks for the translation Nate. I keep hoping that by changing tubes that the low level hum will go away and become like my GS-1 (haha) but I suppose I am just stuck with it this way. It doesn't bother me with music playing and to be fair the level of noise is similar to the hum that I can hear in the background from other sources - like my refrigerator, air conditioner, etc. I think it may be slightly louder in the left channel though.
  18. Interesting discussion. I have a very low level hum with some of my headphones and my Woo Audio WA5-LE (low hum with HD800 out of the high jack - low level hum and maybe a little hiss with the JH13s in the low jack for example) - even with no source. In fact, every tube amp I have owned has had some hum (DV 336SE, DV 3322, SP Extreme), some more than others. I always thought that it was because of the 1940 wiring in my house and the fact that tubes amps weren't perfectly quiet. I asked Jack of Woo Audio about the low level hum and he said that low level hum is perfectly natural for a tube amp. Do you agree? Of course, the B22 isn't a tube amp....
  19. Here here It is too bad that there is a lot of Windows only software.
  20. Isn't there someone in Manhatten? Maybe I missed that part. I was lucky enough to find someone 1 mile from my house, who was very friendly, has done many impressions for singers and only charged $50. I found her by finding the closest audiologist to my house that was on Westone's list and the Sonus website recommended by JH Audio.
  21. grenert: I have a PS3 Blu-Ray and an Oppo DV-980H for upconverting DVDs. Also, we use Media Mall's Playon to stream Hulu and Netflix to the TV so I am good there (although it would be nice to be able to stream hulu without streaming from an external PC). Will the BB employees hook up a TV to a DVD or Blu Ray player and play something that you bring in? Seems like a lot of work especially if I am not going to buy it there.
