well i just popped the old tube back in and problem solved, no noise.

left and right channel tubes being the back tubes on the lunchbox correct?

alright, i'll let this thing cool off before swapping, then i'll let you know if the standard tube makes a noise

oh, and i only hear that shit in the right channel

not sure if this warrants a completely new thread, but i'm hearing this "bing" noise whenever i touch my volume knob. is this normal or should i get this looked at? i did just switch in a new gain tube, so i'm not sure if it's that.

you do have a great point there Ian. the LB is cheap, relatively, and sounds amazing. i agree about the volume pot, it's too easy to go from really quiet to insanely loud if you twist a little too much. would have liked a bit more resistance on it. i don't even go past 8 o' clock on the thing. i'm mainly curious about the tube rolling thing because i want to see how far this baby can go

sweet. i also ordered two 6FC7 to roll the input tubes with but tubedepot has apparently been out of them for quite some time. oh well.

I should be getting my 2C51 tube from FedEx today. From what I hear it makes the lunchbox sound quite a bit nicer. I really wish the lunchbox had more tube rolling options. Wonder if you could use an adapter with it...

hey pj. i have the a7s setup on speaker stands behind my desk chair. when i listen to music, i just swivel around to listen. i haven't tried them on my desk, so I can't help you there, but maybe i'll move them if i ever find time and let you know.

haha true, i don't mind latex gloves, but big honking winter gloves are another story
