  1. Don't ask...
  2. Just heard the Bellari HA540 headphone amp today with a few sources (mostly Chords) and HD800s. Only a couple discs, but way better the $300 price would indicate. Surprising even. Plenty of gain for the Senns, etc. Curious about a better tube. http://www.rolls.com/product.php?pid=HA540
  3. If you compare to PWT (and its new price) it seems to take the memory player idea further. Not sure the PWT was much of a seller though. And theres been rumors of a 5K DAC coming soon from Parasound. Wonder if this is it? Still would be fun to A/B against Paras new bowling alley-line CDP: http://www.parasound.com/ParasoundZ/zcd.php

  5. I was recently looking at 22L2s to replace awkwardly used 12Las and the above price is cheaper than anywhere I've seen.

  7. Happy Birthday Policeman!
  8. Saw Leo Kottke last night at Yoshi's SF. Great songs between fun stories. That ratio probably reverse most concerts. Technically amazing as always and loved the line "Germans did for consonants what Hawaiians did for vowels."
  9. Confirmed?: iPad 3 Has a 2048x1536 Retina Display
  10. I'm trying to figure out what it is. Is it a Evernote/Instapaper-like info collection service (image focus) with a social splash to add flavor? On quick glance it may have already become the premiere location for photos of medieval merchant reenactors.
  11. So the buzz is getting pretty buzzy. Anyone using?
  12. Happy Birthday!
  13. Wow. Go iOS.
  14. How are you running Windows? Anyone know if running in Parallels/VMware has a bigger bat hit than native/Boot Camp?
  15. I actually have a suspicion it's not the keyboard, but the keyboard and spacing around (especially behind) that causes a cramped feeling for some people. It does for me (not necessarily enough to avoid, but more than my brain knows the keyboard size actually is). If that's the case, I'd still not compare to a 11" Dell 'feeling.'
  16. Pretty close. The cramped feel of the 11" screen may actually be because of the keyboard and surface outside it, but if not it's usually the vertical screen limit that's the constraint. Plenty of people hide the doc on the 13" MB/MBP because it takes up too much space and the 32px subtraction of the MBA may be similar (without a setting to regain).
  17. Stay away from liquid soap...
  18. Works for me. May be hit and miss. Thanks. Full link is: http://allthingsd.com/20120216/apples-mountain-lion-and-microsofts-windows-8-both-aim-to-make-desktop-more-like-mobile/ And I screwed up of course. The article I was trying to link to linked off that one.... http://allthingsd.com/20120216/meet-mountain-lion-the-latest-mac-os/

  21. Great to hear it wasn't serious. Damn unstable blood.
  22. Goofy question - when the PWD sample rate setting is set for native/auto, does it display the incoming rate on screen?
  23. Thanks Grahame. And isn't Kodak on record listing camera accessories, print stations, Facebook apps, and lawsuits as being their growth markets? I'm surprised everyone doesn't pile on them before they go ape-shit on the last one.
  24. And how are people thinking about the rev cycle? Any suspicions how far away we are from a refresh?
