  1. I enjoyed the cover of Smooth Criminal by Alien Ant Farm, but was otherwise never a fan of his music. I do agree that he was talented, too bad he became a total weirdo later on in life.
  2. 1) HD800 2) DX1000 3) E500 Easy, eh?
  3. Ouch, sorry to hear about your amp Al =( Mikhail's "planned obsolescence" (due to incompetence) strikes again.
  4. Yeah, its definitely the best amp I have yet to own (and 2nd cheapest, go figure) - thanks again. Now I have to figure out how to sell this RSA HR-2 (although I'm sure someone on HF will take it). Currawong - let us know how the phoenix is. I'm not completely sold on audio-gd yet, but at least it looks like it has the possibility of being a good piece of kit.
  5. I wouldn't drop that kind of money on an unknown amp (debug button? wtf) without at least a single review/listen from a trusted source. I was unimpressed with the sound of the C2C, although I guess its a decent buy for the money. However, the used M3 I got is head and shoulders above it and cost me $50 more.
  6. Mine have the same shiz. At first I thought it was a hair or something. Whatever - it obviously has no impact on the sound.
  7. good to hear! This amp is at the top of my list for usage with my HD800s. Here's hoping the september date is correct
  8. I'm not really a hockey fan, but I am an anti-Pittsburgh fan. So yes, that meltdown was fun to watch I hope that they take this loss badly and don't recover come Tuesday, so I can stop hearing about those d-bags and their "terrible towel."
  9. Get moar batteries! Thanks though. I look forward to your further impressions. Even if ECD-1 + Pimeta + HD800 is like driving an F1 car powered by a lawnmower engine
  10. So do they work well together ("synergize," but I hate that stupid cliched word) with the ECD-1? I'm getting one in next week. Hopefully it will do better than my 840C did.
  11. Danke. I shall be on the lookout for an M3.
  12. I bought an Audio-GD C2C amp. I gotta stop buying into the hype-fest that is HF. It's decent enough, fairly well-built, but the sound is pretty lacking. While it is powerful and fairly neutral, everything sounds a bit "muffled" and hyper-smooth, to the point where you end up losing musical detail (things like piano note decay). Unfortunately my only real point of comparison is my RS HR-2 (I know, I know), which on the whole sounds better. Anyhow (and sorry for the thread jack), but what's the most decent amp I can get for the HD800's for $400 or so? I need something to hold me over until I can get a Luxman P1 or GSX.
  13. Oh, that sucks to hear then. Sounds like at least 3 people are having similar issues.
  14. No noises on my pair, thankfully. How are you guys keeping them when not in use? Hanging on a stand, or laying flat?
  15. Yeah, that one was great. HD800's slow as molasses? srsly?
  16. markl's balsa-wood cupped and dynamatted D2000's must not be selling so well lately. Imagine any established audio company posting such a "review" about a competitor's product on their own website..
  17. I'm interested in this and the new Ayre QB-9 as a future upgrade. I like my current 840c, but its got that rather cold mid-range and glary treble that makes some shit sound plain harsh, at least on all solid state gear.
  18. Damnit Sennheiser, give me my HD800's, or Der Fuhrer gets it!
  19. So now it's late to mid may according the HF thread. WTFz. Oh well - I'm going on a 2 week vacation from May 11th to the 26th, but I really hope they'll be delivered before I return. Oh, and KBI put me and mypassword on his ignore list - oh noes! We have made fun of the best headphone evar!
  20. I think only then will we be able to distinguish the hyperbole from reality and truly understand what the hell they are. "First headphone ever created" "Archetype for all headphones" "Puts me in a heightened state" "Easily the most realistic I've ever heard" blah blah blah. Everytime I need a good laugh I read that dumb thread.
