  1. Zappa, Guitar ... (the man's a genius)
  2. ^^^ Shit, piss, and corruption ... I knew I came south too soon. Next year we set a date, and stick to it, Nate. Our families (your kids, my grandkids their parents of your gen) will thank us for it. Cheers to Nate, Maura, Lily and Andrew.
  3. Shelly .. if you will only be mimicking an ipod, then an iTouch may well give you more battery longevity than any iPhone. Think about it .. I assume you won't need or want wireless nor cell (lte, etc) connectivity ... just play whatever sweet music you already put on the device, right? That being the case, turn off WiFi and Cell connectivity in settings, and you should only be limited by how much you play that thang ... Are you and all nighter? Maybe just a day or two. Occaisional listener? All week long. If I have missed the point of your question, forgive me, and move on. It does seem to me, though, that connectivity is a huge battery drain, and if all you want is music storage and playback, the a Touch should serve you well.
  4. Flat bacon? I thought all the flavor was in the curves. I do not want flat bacon, Sam I Am.
  5. Oh. yeah. That's what I'm talking about when I hear the words, "Chicken and Waffles". Got to have the gravy, sauce, whatever you want to call it, honey, it's not real without that gravy. Word! Fax is ON. Send me some NOW, Metroman.
  6. Todd and family ,,, NH lakes and Sunapee in particular have a special place in my memories. Cheers, and thanks for posting.
  7. ftfy, and, yes, looks amazing. I'll have what Joanne and Graim had.
  8. Yes, please. Garden salsa ftw. Looks fresh and tasty. Dan ... ignore the rude DOTU photographic insult. He was not himself - must have just been to some highbrow photo or art gallery, and had the hipster/art critic dials up to 11. He was not himself, and I'm sure will shortly joineme in saying, "Keep those food pics coming." In the meantime, I am Jones'ing for some of that sous vide lamb shoulder soft tacos with rice and Sriracha. Bring it.
  9. Happy Birthday, Jack! May it be a great one.
  10. Win 10 touchpad issue sorted. Decided to peek into BIOS settings, and found that Touchpad had two optione - Basic or Advanced functions. It was set to Advanced, which likely requires drivers that haven't been done for Win 10 yet. Set to Basic, and on booting up, Touchpad was found, and all good.
  11. Amen, and RIP to Justin and Bobby. Both followed their passion, and the world is better for it.
  12. ^^^ Thanks for the suggestions, sorenb. I'll check the Lenovo site for their driver, and continue to get Win 10 updates as they drop.
  13. Yeah, I hate touchpads too, so contributed a mouse to keep things going. Jack (grandson) likes using mouse for quickness, so all good. Curious, though, as to how widespread this is, and how quickly M$soft and hardware makers will take to resolve.
  14. Finally a voice of reason in tis shit storm of wrongness. Lime juice in a D&S or G&T? I think not. Jacob, Dusty, and your vile ilk, are you heathens, some kind of barbarians or robot children of the cocktail culture seeking the next best ingredient? Riddle me this? It's been a long day, week, year, life (whatever, you get the picture) ... what do you reach for? Some fruit drink? I don't think so. More likely a single malt, strong beer, or some spirit straight up. I rest my case. Another voice of reason and correctess. Where would we all be without ice?
  15. ^^^ Ah, Caprese salad at it's best ... home grown ingredients, and proprietor prepared. Bon appetit, and thanks for the literal cocktail reinforcement and definition of what a cocktail is. Nothing wrong with a good cocktail ... just not for me when spirits, beer, and water by themselves can satisfy. I am a simple man. And, Jacob, thanks for the noble effort to convert, but it is far too late.
  16. Well, it just so happens that Margaritas fit into the three almost cocktails that are exempt from my no cocktails rule ... the other two are a G&T and a Dark and Stormy. The basic rule is, more than two ingredients, and its a cocktail, and therefore sucks. I realize that any good Margarita has at least three ingredients, so that makes the old saying true, the exception makes the rule. Cheers!
  17. ^^^ Shit, piss, and corruption! I knew I should have stayed north one more week. Next year, please fax the weekly menues in advance. Looks amazing, Nate.
  18. Upgraded a cheap Acer laptop that my grandson has. Light use ... mostly Minecraft and the odd school project. It was full of crap from Win 8.1 and buildup from errant surfing, so downloaded Win 10 to USB for a clean install. All good ... wiped HD to single partition and installed Win 10. Happy, happy, till I saw that laptop's touchpad was not recognized. I beliieve it is synaptics. Downloaded latest drivers from both Acer and Synaptice. No love. Ran setup from each, but problem is that Win 10 does not SEE nor Recognize that there is a touchpad. Lots of on line chatter and references to same problem, but no fix. Any advice from the HC braintrust?
  19. Yes, Larry, tough indeed for both you and your daughter. Sending good thoughts for both of you, and glad daughter will get to go abroad, and that you are staying positive.
  20. Happy Birthday, Buddy. Thinking of you today ...
  21. Sorry you're down, Tyll. Here's to a quick recovery.
  22. RIP, Yvonne. Hot and wholesome at the same time.
  23. ^^ Butch and Sundance would have loved it. As would I. I find that many of the best, most authentic immigrant based (asian, central and south American, African, Arabis, etc) food is to be found in said places. Bon Appetit!
