  1. Viki is doing her happy dance all around the house - hope the blinds are pulled.
  2. Happy Birthday, Mike. May the day go your way, and may you have many more to come.
  3. cj - sorry about grandpa. my sympathy to you and your family.
  4. You forgot Denver and Achilles. I'm squealing, and they will become my new bff, and drive home with me. No, wait, make that, they will stay with you, but make your life miserable for not being me. Yeah, that's the ticket.
  5. When Mike is through modding your 007ta, it will drive speakers. Moar power!
  6. not scary for me ... it's Alex's amp. let's wait till after dark to do it, so we can see the sparks fly when it gets turned on after your mod.
  7. Like Mike said, flecom is your man, should he be in the mood to fire up his iron. btw, I assume you've seen this Head-Fi thread specifying changes needed? Need Help Converting STAX SRM-007tA from 100V to 117V - Head-Fi: Covering Headphones, Earphones and Portable Audio Looks simple enough that anyone with an iron and multi meter could do.
  8. I'll bring the Woo WA6 SE and my Accuphase A-20 power amp. Probably just computer for source (with duet for fun), and the K1000s, Stax Lambda pro, HD 650, SA5000, HF2, and ATH ESW10. Alex - what voltage is your Stax 007Ta at now? (100 or 220) If 100V, I have a 115 x 100 Volt converter that I can bring over for you. It is high power capacity, and wouldn't break a sweat supplying the 7T.
  9. Resistance is futile ... As long as Achilles can spoon, snore, and snuggle, we'll be just fine. Don't forget those growlers The Younger is bringing over, and I've got a jug of Lagavulin I'll bring.
  10. Been doing some jedi mind tricking on Becky, and it worked. She changed a scheduled trip from weekend of 7/10-12 to 7/17-19, so I'm in. Mike - I can sleep in my car or on the beach if house is full.
  11. This really sucks, Al. Very sorry to hear it. Should be an easy fix, though - just take it to the van rental peeps, and have their "AV guy" fix it. They are so scared of you, I'm sure they will do for free. Flying Nate out for a long weekend is the only reasonable thing - of course, thrice, Vicki, Mike, Matt, and I will need to come too to fetch beers, scotch, gin, and ice while the project proceeds.
  12. My impression is that we are all having way too much fun. I hope that tomorrow is as cool because today was GOOD STUFF! oops, this is Voltron typing because my boy Gene is pretty much passed out....

The VanJam team is assembling ... JP11801, NightWoundsTime, Voltron, Cetoole, and meself had a few brews then attended last night's Giants vs Braves game at AT & T - amazing evening that started here: JPnums, Voltron, and Cetoole pounding Wonderful stuff Picked up Trice after the game, and pounded a few more at Toronado (thanks for the detour, Al), now back at Mayberry for a few hours rest. Who knows what today may bring.

Chicken and waffles .... mmmmm, I'm in.
  16. Bah! So did I. Congrats to the 'Canes and their fans, and the Wings on advancing. Bad day for beantown yesterday - Sox lost to the Halos, C's caved to Magic in the last 5 minutes to allow a game 7 on the parquet, and B's end the 2009 season.

You got that right, Grahame. But, we expected nothing less from the Defender. All hail the Pilot and Navigator. Your wish is our command, noble queen.

Nice ... how thoughtful, you are a sweetheart, Vicki.
  19. Would love to see the Caps come back and demolish the r's, but not 'gonna happen (sorry grawk and boo). Take solace, however, in seeing my beloved Broons demolish the mutually hated Rangers on their way to the cup. Word.

Leave me alone ... you try typing with a hook.
  21. I actually stole the RS1s and MS2s for a quick listen on Mark's amp - loved both, and it proved to me that a.) Mark's amp was great for both high and low impedance cans, and b.) that I need to get a pair of higher end Grados (except for GS or PS1000s) again. My first listen to the Alessandros, and was very impressed. ZDo you prefer one of those (RS1 vs MS2i) over the other? I was reluctant to just grab them and walk around the room without knowing whose they were. Thanks for mentioning.
  22. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Nothing wrong with that, raffy. btw, yes, I did notice the UD 10 at the meet sitting down in the corner, but didn't know who's it was. I've had one, and it would behave the same as the BC Thingee on the same laptop I had at the meet, so am beginning to think it is a computer issue with that box. Interesting that the Pico usb connection was rock solid, though. Have to have a talk with Justin to see what flavor of pixie dust he uses to accomplish that.
  23. x2 on cj's impressions of Mark Reid's work. Here are three of his 5 wpc power amp. Here is pizza from the food break ... Mike thought 3 would be enough, we made him order 4, and they were gone in 45 seconds. Great pies. Here's the rest of the meet. The Younger doing a Stevio ... Here's the after at Alligator Alley. Terrific band - Johhny Sketch and the Dirty Notes. 6 pieces (Lead Guitar, Bass, Drums, and 3 person horn section (2 sax + trumpet). They killed, and the joint was hopping. Oyster Po' Boys ruled, too. Oh, did I not mention the Cello? All in all, another amazing FL meet. I am thankful for my FL brothers and sisters and the good times we have. By blood oath, the camera was shut down some time ago, so you have no access to the secret proceedings and carrying on that continues even now. As they say ... no tickee, no seeie.
