  1. Luckily for you, there are places that sell these, in both new and use, stock and modded trim. Should you be so inclined, you can always, you know, go buy some more! **BRENT**
  2. Dammit... ^ that was my 900th post. I was going to use that for buying something. Oh well. I found this a few years ago, and the above made me want to share it with. It makes me smile every time I watch it. **BRENT**
  3. **BRENT**
  4. You should buy some ThunderPants from NoNoNoNoNoNo. **BRENT**
  5. Not today, but this past weekend I consumed my first beer. Well, it was technically a beer, sort of. Solidarity with my best friend, who is now recently no-longer-engaged, 2 hours after the fact. Magic Hat Wacko. Seems to use beet sugar for fermentation. I feel like I should have been in an episode of Doug. **BRENT**
  6. Where is the "Like" button for this one? **BRENT**
  7. Also... maybe you want to try different browsers, update java, or... well... mess with the firewall. This chat is finicky at times. **BRENT**
  8. Birthday Cake - Android app on AppBrain **BRENT**
  9. You still using you 128kbps MP3s? **BRENT**
  10. Stumbled across this today: How to Turn Your Android Phone into a Fully-Automated Superphone Looks interesting. **BRENT**
  11. Heh... I now know my laptop screen's calibration is off, as I can read that. Heh. **BRENT**
  12. Already sold. 443$ shipped. Too bad Dinny didn't get it. **BRENT**
  13. Don't use a hairdryer like someone suggested. Here is what I recommend for cellphones that take a swim... I think it should probably work here too. Wipe down the card with a rag or paper towel (I'm sure you've already done this, though). Get a small tupperware-style container, put rice in it, put card into rice, let it sit at least overnight, if not for a full day. Then try to grab your images. The rice should absorb the excess water. Hope this helps. **BRENT** Oh yeah, congrat on your new place, Matt. Maybe it's time to upgrade your cellphone so you can tether @ your house, no?
  14. doubleTwist should be a good solution for your music player woes. I'm glad it's working out for you, dB, especially in the former Dead Zone. If you didn't know, you can set that phone as a wifi hotspot for a 20$/mo fee, iirc. Also, if you wanted to be able to tether to you computer (for free), check out PdaNet. If I didn't tell you previously, check out App Brain. Also, if you do much/any reading, the Nook app just landed on Android, Audible has a supposedly phenomenal app out (possibly in beta still, but look it up in the Market), Kindle has an app. Lots of stuff out there. Also, if you didn't know, Google Maps has built-in turn-by-turn navigation service. Amazon has an app with a barcode scanner which will allow you go scan barcodes (using the camera) when you're out, compare prices with Amazon, add-to-cart or even buy straight from the phone. I'd also download Shazam if you ever listen to a song but just don't know the name of it and want to know within a few seconds. For other barcode scanners, I like Barcode Scanner, Compare Everywhere and/or ShopSaavy. I'd get at least one beyond the Amazon app... you can scan the QR codes that are popping up here and there for various things, including ones that take you straight to the download of certain programs/apps. So that's what, 10 apps down, 100,000 to go? That should keep you busy. **BRENT** Oh... almost forgot the most important thing. www.Head-case.org. Click on the chat room.
  15. Oh... I wouldn't drop an iPhone 4/Evo/most things in an Innocase from more than say, 3 ft. Maybe 18" onto concrete. But it is really thin, is one of the best feeling cases for thin phones, reasonably unobtrusive... I like it. If you want to pocket it and not drop it on concrete, good choice. I like dropping thigns on concrete, though. **BRENT**
  16. @Jeff... The screen protector OtterBox uses sucks. I figure you have an InvisibleShield or something for it, use that and take out the plastic. The one on my Storm would come out with a little prodding, but I haven't seen the iPhone 4 one yet, so like Nate I can't be sure how that one would work. This case isn't really pocketable, it's designed for the greatest deal of protection, and to be used with the holster/kept in a bag/purse/Dinny-Approved-Murse. If you want to pocket, I'd look at the Commuter (coming soon). Another option that I've been reasonably happy with (on a smaller phone that was pocketed) was the Seidio Innocase. Not out just yet for the iPhone 4, but should be soon. seidioonline.com I would have no qualms dropping a phone in an OtterBox Defender onto concrete from 5-10 feet. Oh... look, Otterbox just released the Defender case for the HD2. Hmmm... **BRENT**
  17. I'm pretty sure I bought this one on clearance about 3.5 years ago and it worked great in my factory Mazda radio at the time. Amazon.com: XtremeMac IPN-APL-00 Airplay2- Black: Electronics It was 10 or 12$ iirc. Had a few programmable buttons (helped in different parts of town). It was loose in the cubby under the radio when the car was totaled by an uninsured driver. The thing is lost in the abyss right now. Really, though... go with Kevin's idea. **BRENT**

  19. Thanks for all the congrats guys... gives me the warm/fuzzies. The plan is to get a 100% company match on my contributions for a retirement fund. Except substitute JH1x for retirement, and Colin for company. **BRENT**
  20. Maybe they tried calling to tell you about the local stores? Oh, wait, n/m. **BRENT**
  21. Was offered a position with the company I've been a contractor with for the past 8 months. Switchover will be this coming Monday if we can push the paperwork through, or 2 weeks at most. I said I was getting JH13s when this happened... heh... maybe it's time to set aside a buck an hour in the JHAudio fund. **BRENT**
  22. First off, @Jeff, you should be able to sell those here if anyone wants a case. If you want to protect a device, I've not come across anything better. Those cases are fantastic. Most will probably want to pull the built-in screen protector and use an Invisible Shield or something like that, but as far as protection, they're the best. Next, got a pop-up to upgrade to iTunes 9.2.1 today. Had some iPhone/iPad related "updates" and bug fixes. Has anyone mentioned these, or might they be important to you? iTunes 9.2.1 provides a number of important bug fixes, including: • Addresses minor issues with dragging and dropping items • Addresses a performance issue when first syncing to some devices with iTunes 9.2 • Addresses an issue upgrading to iOS 4 on an iPhone or iPod touch with encrypted back-ups • Addresses other issues that improve stability and performance iTunes 9.2 comes with several new features and improvements, including: • Organize and sync PDF documents as books. Read PDFs with iBooks 1.1 on iPad and any iPhone or iPod touch with iOS 4 • Organize your apps on your iOS 4 home screens into folders using iTunes These were just two of a few things, but were these available previously? I haven't gotten my hands on an iPhone4 yet, so I'm not sure. It just reads like reading PDFs through iBooks is a new things, and folders was on-device only. Just wondering. **BRENT**

  24. Oh... I was doing it wrong, but at least I was doing it. Classically trained saxophonist, btw. I know that's kind of a new concept, (what, about 80 years old?), but it's kinda cool being 4th Gen (Marcel) Mule. Not that I'm any good, but whatever. **BRENT**
