I personally do not enjoy the Cary's 300B mush. It feels like I'm being drowned in sap. Of course, it might be a decent match with the K1000 for some people since the K1000 is quite neutral. For me, I think a sweet yet clean sounding tube amp would be perfect for the K1000.

Now that I think about it, Elephas is indeed the king of headphones now. No, the Raptor does indeed sound "a bit weird". Wait, are you saying slwiser has RSA amps?

Their externals don't have the 5 years the last time I checked. They could have changed it. I usually buy internals (Seagate; 5 year) and stick them in enclosures. It probably won't look as nice as something external you could buy off the shelf though.

What is your pre going to be? Going integrated? Using your b22 as a pre?
