  1. Thanks! They shipped today, so...!!!
  2. Stock for the moment. I have a feeling that Nate may be recabling them at some point, but he doesn't know that yet. The Black wooden box is a little shabby too, but I plan to build one from Burled Maple and Wenge soon.
  3. Mine was a Freudian slip, because I wish my waist was getting shorter. My belt makes me see the reality of the situation though.
  4. Why waist time, life is short. At anytime you want to audition them in your home just let me know. Thank you kind sir, it's a labor of love.

I like the inuindo even better!
  6. I have to see the winning pic if that's just the runner up! She is absolutely adorable! That amp is looking pretty damn sweet too!
  7. I don't miss mine at all. I do miss the summers in Alaska however.
  8. I am thoroughly impressed with the Buffalo DAC. I've heard and owned some very nice DACs, but the Buffalo is most compatible with my system and my preferences. I'm very happy that I'm going to have one with every conceivable input and output I could want or need for the foreseeable future. I think that the ability to control the volume from the DAC chip (with the Femto) will be a very usable feature.

  10. That happens a lot actually.
  11. Smeggy, deepak and cetoole, the felt was mailed today. I have not tried it yet myself, but it does seem similar in thickness and feel to that which Ludoo had.

She is cute, but my god I must be getting old, because she looks 15 to me. The baby pic creeps me out Duggeh!
  15. I like them, and if you had enough of them mounted on a wall they'd deaden a room quite effectively too. Shit! I guess I won't post my sculpture now. Mine was "fluttery happiness and innocent birds" but still...
  16. Done.
  17. If you get the chance to try it on... PPA V1 or V2 M
  18. I happen to think the HP-1 and YH-1 are the best Yamahas in stock form except for the YH-1000. To me the YH-100 absolutely needs modding, but has more to gain from modding than all the other Yamaha drivers. That said I still prefer a modded HP-1/YH-1 to stock. Thanks Jay, I knew we could count on you for a sperm donation.
  19. Well said. I don't think the point is to try to replicate the stat sound, which we know is an effort in futility. The point is to get some of those characteristics plus some very musical, lush, full sound with the addition of strong bass extension at a fraction of the price of the big stats. To my mind the Ortho sound is a great meld of some of the stat and dynamic signatures. What it does well, it does very well, and at a price that's still a relative bargain.
  20. And then when the house catches fire and goes up in minutes, call me to rebuild it.
  21. Yes the Rega RB300 is an excellent value IMO, and it mates quite well with the also excellent valued Denon DL-103. I'd recommend the Hagerman Bugle phono stage. This will give you an excellent little spinning rig IMHO.
  22. Then again there's the stand they requested. Who knows?
  23. Sweet Smeggy! Hey wualta, good to see you over here.
  24. Smeggy, Could I get you to post some pics of your modded RP18 here? I'd love to see it!
