While it's a sad situation to have to deal with SPs antics, he hasn't to my knowledge taken money without ever delivering the product. I have to agree with Mike here. It may be a pain in the ass, but getting the amp eventually seems to be the best outcome.

Billy there are many people who could make you a very high quality cable well in your price range I'm sure. Even a V3 APS cable of that length should be well inside your $600.00 budget. And Alex makes an excellent sounding cable, as do Nate, Grand Enigma and others.

I love the tape used to spin the platter too. Mine looks like any old VHS tape. That one's very shiny. Glad you got everything together. It looks fantastic, very solid, manly turntable. Congrats!

Just got back from the shop. Can't say thanks enough to Nate for getting this thread back on topic. It seems as though the HD800 may really have a lot to offer. I'm dying to hear them, but I can't see myself jumping the gun until I've had some time with them. I have no doubt that Tyll's review is spot on. He's about the most trustworthy headphone salesman one could ever hope for, but I'm not sure what the rush is all about. However that tends to be the way with all new phones of interest.
