  1. Yep. They all have a role. It all breaks down when people forget what those roles are. I guess you can call them societal checks and balances.
  2. I have a D300, and I use the 18-200VR MK1 99% of the time. I also have the 50 f/1.8, but with kids, I have to have the zoom for the candid shots. And with the VR in the 18-200, I can shoot with no flash at 1/8 sec. handheld and still get sharp shots. 1/8 sec is probably not anything special for some of you, but I am not a pro by any means, so I am very happy with mine. To me, it's the absolute perfect vacation lens.
  3. To all: Yeah, I definitely think, based on Leonardo's previous posts that I have seen, this is a case of him being interested and passionate about this subject and not a case of annoying pontificating. To Leonardo: Unfortunately for you, this is nothing new to most of us, and it falls on deaf ears. Most people here do not want to read about it, and at the other site, too many people are too stupid to discuss anything with altogether. You seem like a nice guy, so I pretty much got that you meant no harm, but topics like this here don't end well
  4. Happy Birthday, Kevin! I have learned so much about amp design from reading your posts. Thank you.
  5. Oh good. Anything better than Heritage will be a step in the right direction for Mr. A as far as I'm concerned. I'll have a listen tonight when it's quiet.
  6. Meet Viktoriya Yermolyeva: Info: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Viktoriya_Yermolyeva Youtube Channel: http://www.youtube.com/user/vkgoeswild Webpage: http://www.vkgoeswild.com/ I have been playing this nonstop: If you like piano and rock/metal, you will LOVE her. Very accomplished classical pianist crosses over to rock/metal and does not suck? Awesome!
  7. INTJ with a very heavy emphasis toward thinking and judging. Always been that way. Although this stuff is full of loaded questions, it's dead on in this case for me.
  8. Sticker = real "Misteak" = Photoshop Ya moran! Both sides of the political aisle 'shop each other. Some of it is hilarious, and some of it is just sad. Once one realizes the whole process has become a damn joke, most of it should be taken as entertainment to its intended targets. Only the truly hateful or dangerous stuff should be taken seriously.
  9. luvdunhill, I think you have me mixed up with Pars on that quote.
  10. Yeah, this was discussed on the HRM forum. I really love that place for some of the great vinyl rips, but Doc really should have kept the forums closed. If you are a member there, I am sure you know what I mean. Audio fans really are a gullible bunch overall.
  11. Knuckledragger: Thank you for posting all 28 of those Facebook history chronicles. They are classic! And I hope what happened above is not too serious. Hope it all works out.
  12. It's ALL marketing garbage. There is a reason why the best vacuums still use bags. Direct for one of the best vacuum manufacturers: http://www.sebo.us/bag_vs_bagless.aspx I think the best brands are Royal, Sebo, Kirby, and Miele. They are expensive, but they will last you a long time. You will be happy with any of those brands. I prefer Royal for the metal construction, bombproof design, absolute simplicity, and ease of finding replacement parts to fix it yourself. Many people are still regularly using 30 year old Royals with no problems. Having said this, if you value having a very quiet vacuum, Royal is probably not for you. They are loud (but not needing ear protection loud), but damn, they SUCK (in a good way).
  13. I am saving them as you are posting them. I have some co-workers in the social science department that will love this.
  14. Knuckledragger: Your Facebook history chronicles (or whatever the hell they are) are friggin' hilarious! Thanks a ton! Do you have a source for them?
  15. My mom has a Riccar. Nice vac, but it does not do a very good job of cleaning at the edges or the front (i.e. Places where the carpet meets the wall). The Royal literally sucks the stuff out of that area. Sebo and Miele are also great vacuums as well.
  16. Seriously, Dysons ARE the Bose of vacuums. I researched the hell out of them when I was looking. Get an MRY8300 for $399 or less on ebay, and it'll last you decades.
  17. Go old school. Get a Royal MRY8300 for less on ebay. It is primarily for floors, but it'll kick the living crap out of any Dyson. Get HEPA bags and you are good to go. If you need something for upholstery, get a canister vac.
  18. Palestinian poverty brought on by Israeli blockades and walls as well as bullying tactics only serve to recruit more terrorists. Either they (the Israeli government) are too dense to understand that, or they want that. At this point, I would not be surprised if it was a little bit of both.
  19. Phosphorus? Unbelievable! I get that there are terrorists on the Palestinian side (obviously), but this was a sanctioned attack by a country. And they wonder why the world opinion of Israel is not favorable...
  20. Happy Birthday! Thanks for the info on my MAD amp a while back.
  21. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6ZhMfzc9RbU Found this when researching aluminum vs. fiberglass ladders.
  22. Fireworks gone bad or Middle East violence?
