Bad idea, if she's that anal about the power bill just think of how bad she'll be if you ever need anything fixed or something else serious happens. Really sounds like a landlady worth staying away from.

I kind of assumed she was paying the utilities, but like I mentioned in my previous post your gear uses hardly any power. The A/C, refrigerator, computer will all use way more power than you gear is. If she can't understand that or is just a complete nutcase move on.

Granodemostasa, have you tried explaining that all those devices in total use hardly any power? I'd be surprised if all the gear in your list used more than 100-150 watts in total. Number of outlets in use does not equate to power usage in anyway shape or form.

Have either of you guys heard the GS-1000 at all? With the recent talk of the Ed.9 having a "V" shaped frequency response I'm curious if they sound similar to the GS-1000 (aside from the soundstage differences) as the GS-1000 also have a "V" shaped response.

Is the SHA-1 Gold or just the regular SHA-1? For the regular I'd say $400-$600 really depends a lot on the condition of it.

When I had a Melos a couple years ago the Amperex PW 7308s were my favorite tubes for it. Shame they've become even more outrageously priced.

I actually owned the metal version of those a few years back. Think they're called the EM-9R?? They sounded ok but I thought they were hideously overpriced.

Well of course it's unbelievable it's on TV . Still though I just expected that the camera crew helped him out and that there was some sort of medical staff around. I never would have expected they'd be staying in luxury hotels half the time.

I tend to agree and this is a big part of the reason why I'm not overly fond of the R10, RS-1 and GS-1000. Sure they can sound great with very specific types of music and I guess if I only listened to that one specific genre they would be great phones. But I listen to a wide variety of music so I want versatile headphones.

No my amp isn't tuned for R10's why would it be? I tried every tube combination I could think of from 6sn7/2c51/6414/12au7/5687 as the input tube to the 6080/6528/7802 as the output tubes. They just aren't headphones I like very much. Yes I do listen to quite a lot of rock, but I do also listen to vocal, jazz and the occasional classical. Didn't really like the R10 with any of the music I tried them with.
