  1. You need to get into speakers first, the bunnies demand it
  2. God I hate the power in my house, it's been hot out the past few days so all the neighborhood AC's are going strong. According to the UPS on my PC its input voltage is a whopping 102 right now
  3. Voltage and current bias need to be bumped up a bit . Oh yeah and some 5687-octal socket adapters so you can pop in some 6bl7's.
  4. Yeah they have been fine so far, the amp was on about 8-10 hours every day over the weekend with no problems at all.
  5. Hehe . I'm sure you'll get one someday. I should get my octal adapters today or tomorow then I'll give a pair of 6bl7gta's a shot as the output tubes. The voltage is set higher than the stock 300V on my amp, doesn't seem to affect the 5687s much although it wouldn't surprise me if it'll knock some hours off their lifetime. The increased voltage should be great for the bl7gta's though

    Pretzel Forum!!

Pretzels do make the world go round in an indirect way. You see Bunnies eat pretzels, and lots of them and as you know the Bunnies are proliferating and taking over the world. The pretzels are just coming along for the ride as bunny fuel.
  7. Don't feel like starting my own thread yet so heres a pic of my slightly different than stock Slam PPX3 that arrived on saturday:
  8. This is one sickness I'll be glad to avoid, luckily my lazyness will stop me from ever getting into vinyl.
  9. You could also just get quicktime alternative: http://www.free-codecs.com/download/QuickTime_Alternative.htm
  10. Well thats some good news. I'm almost tempted to get one, almost.
  11. You might also want to give Patricia Burns a call, shes the parts manager for AKG USA: Patricia Burns 615-620-3832
  12. Jason, I see no reason why they wouldn't they seem to be like Beyer in that they will sell you any part you want.
  13. Wow I have to say thats impressive that they still repair a pair of headphones that old, but impressive has been par for the course in my experience with AKG's support.
  14. I just don't think many people have heard the HeadCode and it is a very expensive amp that most people probably couldn't afford if they wanted too.

    They're here

Here's another question to toss out, for someone who finds the RS-1's bright, would they find the GS1K's bright as well?

    They're here

Congrats Hirsch they look great, I'd really appreciate any comparisons to L3000s if you get a chance .
  17. Nice work Nate, the case looks glorious.
  18. Theres much more to it than that
  19. I'm betting its John Tucker
  20. I voted for other because I think it really depends on the situation. If you live in a pretty new area or close to a power station your power is likely to be pretty decent and if nothing else you probably get a pretty stable 120V and power conditioning won't give you and significant improvements. If your in my situation where power outages are fairly common and haven't seen 120V anytime recently I think power conditioning can make a pretty big difference. Which brings me to my question, with summer approaching which means voltages in 105V and less range would I be better off getting a power conditioner that does voltage regulation and brings the voltage up to 120V no matter what the input voltage is? Or would I see a bigger difference going with a balanced power conditioner?
  21. Man that wait really sucks I hope it sounds fantastic and doesn't break again when you finally get it back.
  22. Hmm thats a rather strange extended warranty Tweeter has, I know the ones best buy has almost always result in them giving you a new unit no questions asked and in fact that is even one of their big selling points on it.
  23. Haha
  24. Round 2.... Soundstaging and imaging... Both the Tylers and the Europas have wide soundstages and precise imaging the similarities pretty end right there. The Tylers have far better soundstage depth and I think largely because of that present a more realistic and cohesive soundstage/presentation that completely envelopes the listener.
