I like how angry Raylan gets. I like angry.

Watching the season finale tonight. I really like this show. And I think it got better as the season went on and the writers seemed to find their groove. The humor was a little too slapstick-y at first, but it seems to have taken a bit of a darker turn, which was the right way to go. Olyphant is very good. (I actually thought he was only mediocre in Deadwood, but I've always liked him; he was excellent in "Go.") But the rest of the characters finally have some depth now, too. And the actors seem to be jelling better.

Ugh, one of the prom-going girls called me "sir" when she asked me to take her picture with her friend. That made me feel old. Not being able to operate the camera--that made me feel drunk.

Steve and Shelly, I went to Vassar, which has a sizable gay population both male and female. Several of my friends went through--and in some cases are still going through--the painful and courageous process of coming out to their friends and family. (I also have the Vassar gay population largely to thank for my finding a wife so far out of my league. ). I hope it is becoming less painful. Hopefully, one day soon, it won't take the amount of guts that it currently requires. One of my uncles was gay, but was never able to feel at peace with himself (for many reasons in addition to having a difficult time coming out). He killed himself years ago. I wish he'd had a community like this one where he felt safe and confident with himself and his friendships such that he would know that friends don't care about such things. I just want my friends to be happy. And Steve, this is why the reason for your coming out this way is important. You're absolutely right, there are still men and women out there struggling and feeling isolated because they feel like they will not be accepted--and in some cases won't be accepted--if and when they come out. To want to help people in that position is very much consistent with the great guy I finally got to meet this weekend. And you're still freaks, of course. Just like the rest of us.

I think that hotel was designed to drive revelers to the brink. All those damn wings and levels and whatnot. Any tomfoolery that occurred was solely the fault of the hotel.

Heh, I actually forgot about that. But you're right of course. I'm pretty sure I was trying to figure out how to steal it. Maybe that's why he didn't want to talk to me anymore.

I can't believe I have to ask this, but are the LCD-2s open or closed? I probably should have listened to something other than the TTVJ amps at CJ.

Does anyone know the app by the natural sounds guy at CJ this year? Nature Sounds? Natural Sounds? iNature? There are a bunch of apps that sound the same--predictably.

^Agree. The HD800 out of the Apex amps sounded better than the T1. It wasn't close. The HD800 is still a bit steely for my taste, but it's a good headphone. The T1 is boring. Definitely not an awful can, but it just doesn't do much for me. I still love the build, though. And it shows me that there is still room for some mfr to come in and make the best new dynamic phones.

I got to listen and play with the Jh16 and 3a setup. It's a little clunky at the moment because you need to control the volume and fr stuff with a computer. However, this is a very different headphone than the standalone Jh13. What I found coolest was the way you can dial in the bass exactly how you want it. And it doesn't sound like you're EQing (and I guess technically you really aren't but the more technically proficient will need to confirm). When you boost or lower the bass, whatever level you choose sounds like exactly the level the headphone was always meant to be. IOW, it doesn't sound like a JH 13 with bass boost (or bass reduction). It just sounds like it was designed to sound exactly that way no matter what the setting. Obviously, my fried brain is having a difficult time explaining this, but they sound damn good. The imaging is superb, IMO. JHA is getting very close to the point where these don't sound like IEMs anymore.
