I liked that TTVJ amp at danjam.

Keeping with my L/R idea, I was thinking that since these things will get a lot of subway use, I would use small graphics of the R and L trains to distinguish.

Thao with the Get Down Stay Down:

Just got back from the Tunnel to Towers first annual benefit. I was invited along with a guest to attend because I raised over $1000 as part of my run. My Dad was my date. We had a great time. Ended up having a nightcap at the Brandy Library. A good night.

It's a PITA, Shelly. But in some ways worth it. I like learning how these things work. And as someone with limited DIY skills, I'll take small victories where I can get them.

We actually just agreed to be my sister-in-law's cats' guardians should anything happen to her (she's single and pretty attached to her cats). They're pretty awesome cats actually, and I'm not exactly a cat lover.

Spent the morning with Jack. We went to Barnes & Noble with the rest of the fathers/children in Tribeca. I guess it's something of a Tribeca Mecca. I can't wait until the public library opens in our building. We got some book about a blue truck and good old "Make Way for Ducklings". We also did a fair amount of reading while there. It is really cool to see him starting to read. Picked up some lunch for ourselves and Katie and now we're eating lunch, getting ready for naptime. I like naptime.

It has something to do with the road to hell and good intentions. I bought an iMod service at the NYC Meet's Not So Silent Auction. I didn't care much about the mod but figured it was a good way to give money for the Meet. My original 5.5G's screen was on the blink (literally), so I decided to try to fix it on my own instead of paying Vinnie 50 bucks for the part and labor (which of course I should have done). I also figured I should throw in a new battery while I was at it. Obviously, that plan went down in flames. So damage control is to get a cheap used one in decent condition to send to Vinnie, and then get a broken one for parts for the other one (I suspect more than one bad component in the now broken one). Basically, I would like the satisfaction of having fixed the original, but I also want the instant gratification of sending something in to Vinnie. In other words, it's all a bunch of nonsense.

I bought one that seems in decent condition on ebay for around 96 bucks. Now I'll try to buy a really cheap broken one to fix the other one and then I'll find another broken one to fix that one and....

And the biscuits?

So I'll try to pick one up cheap on ebay. In the meantime, does anyone know if their are online dealers with NOS 5Gs? Other than ALO...

Thanks gang. I used OWC.

And pounds, too. Some of these damn things are heavy.

Heh, I think Jack and I are going ice skating today. Hockey players we are not. I'm the guy whose ankles turn in while skating around the rink.

If Brent doesn't get a biscuit this morning, there's gonna be hell to pay.

Glad Mike was able to make it back. That should raise his, er, spirits a bit. I very much wish to be down there. Turned out for the best 'cuz Missus Monkey is sick in bed, so the little one and I will have some quality time tomorrow. But that ain't a head-case meet.

I think I'm just going to get muddy water blue. Or black. Or some other fucking color.
-
Tried re-seating everything. All was going well until...there's a little fucking brown clip that holds the battery cable in place. Said clip is extremely delicate and easy to break. I broke it of course. And it is damn near impossible to get that cable to sit in there with tape or anything else. Nightmare. Plus, I suspect that this iPod could have multiple issues. At this point, I'll either get a cheap working one on ebay or maybe another broken one to try to make a frankenpod, but I'm getting sick of this shit. Apple can kiss my ass.

Press on gang!

What about the weird restore problem. Anyone ever encounter that?

So you can't combine colors in the way I wanted (i.e., "smoke" a blue or red color). I think they were able to do this at UE, so it's a bit frustrating. I'm now thinking Muddy Water Blue with some very small artwork to indicate R/L because, despite the comments earlier, I don't find it extremely easy to tell which is which.

Null Audio claims to do a remold & mod to the tf10 that will make it "95% of the UE11." I have no information about this company, nor should this be taken as any sort of endorsement. I simply stumbled upon it on the internets. They also do other types of remolding services. IEM Remolding + Modification Service (SF5Pro, TF10Pro, UM2) [CustomMod] - S$432.95 : Null Audio Studio, Where everything is purely handmade

The Gold Box ad says sold out. I have not yet received an order confirmation email from Logitech, but my order is in the system according to my account page. We'll see. I wonder if the triple.fi 11 will be coming out soon. I should probably go after them for royalties on the name.

Man, I wish I were with you all. Have a great time. Jeff, did you bring down the PerfectWave?

4 x Triple.Fi.
