What--the pissing on the pieces?

So last night I tried to replace both the LCD and the battery to my iPod 5.5g. I probably should have done one at a time to minimize troubleshooting, but hell, I'm an optimist. So after reconnecting everything, I try to turn it on. No joy. But I can hear the HD whirring, so I think it's getting juice. Black screen, though. So obviously it could be a bad LCD that I received. But I also get strange errors when trying to connect to iTunes. It tells me the iPod needs to be restored, but then claims the iPod is busy when it attempts to do so. And that's bullshit. I've tried resetting the damn thing every way I know how to no avail. My next troubleshooting step will be to try to restore it using my PC laptop. After that, I'll probably put in the old LCD. After that the old battery. And after that, I'll piss all over it and smash it to tiny pieces and sell it on HF. Any other suggestions, by the way? I'm all ears.

Just bought 4 tf10 from Logitech (both versions are several weeks wait at Amazon). These will be great Holiday gifts for my brother, sis-in-law, and wifey. Then I'll sell pair 4 to cover.

Yup you're right. The regular tf just has a 3-5 week wait time now.

Call me a cynic, but I think this deal is a little weird. Maybe end of life, but are there any rumors or reports about Logitech's financial position?

I guess a question I have is whether there are similarly-priced Blu-Ray players that can do all the things that the "fat" PS3 can do with the exception of games of course.

Is the PS3 a useful device if you don't do much gaming? I remember reading about it being a "great" blu-ray player and SACD capable. Whaddya say?

I'm not positive that you can mix, but I have seen references on the FB site and elsewhere. Basically, if you can make up a color, I think they can do it. Does anyone else have info about their color creation ability?

Jin, I went to this guy: Andrew Resnick Audiologist Hearing Aids New York City. He was recommended by someone over at HF, and he's within walking distance from my office. He was fast and professional and seemed to know what he was doing. He indicated that he had made molds for musicians in the past (but not in an arrogant way). It cost $85, which is a little high, but the proof will be in the pudding. If these come back fitting great, then it was money well spent. I'll be sure to report back.

That looks seriously great, Shelly. I need to decide my color now. I'm not going with any graphics, but I think I want to be able to easily tell between Right and Left. So I'm either going to go with some small indicator graphic, or I'll do two separate colors for the earpieces. If I go the latter route, I think I would go blue and red, but I would want it to be pretty subtle. So I'm thinking muddy water blue for left and whatever dark red they have for right, both translucent, and both mixed with ~50% black translucent. Any thoughts about these approaches are appreciated.

Just got my impressions done. The audiologist used foam instead of cottond dams. I'm hoping that's not a problem. EDIT: Jaime just responded that it should be ok.
