  2. Despite my Bihn fanboism, I am not a fan of the Ristretto.
  3. cool. Only problem is that I want firewire option and that drives up cost.
  4. So is this whole drive specifically for Mac a bunch of hooey?
  5. happy birthday, Steve. Have a great one!
  6. My 500GB external drive is filling up. So I want to get a 1 TB drive. That seems to be the right price point because I'll need two (one for backup). Unfortunately, the damn enclosures I'm using have a chipset that supports IDE not SATA. Not sure what I was thinking there. I'm thinking of just buying 2 pre-built external drives. I haven't done this in a while, but some of the mfrs. market their drives as Mac-specific. Is this bs? I forget. What do I need to look for?
  7. A lot of the data I've seen suggests that the ibuprofen pain relief dosage really plateaus at around 800mg (4 tablets). The higher doses are moar better for inflammation. But I'm no doctor.
  8. I have had various joint and other injuries, as well as major abdominal surgery, so have been on various pain meds over the years. The non-opiate pain relievers that I have found most effective are: Toradol - Had it post-surgery and I swear it was a miracle. It's like an NSAID on, er, steroids. But you can only take it for 5 days or your stomach falls out of your ass or something. Mobic - Cleared up a majorly swollen knee due to Lyme disease and worked very well on the pain Prednisone or other similar steroids Relpax - migraines In OTC land, 3-4 Advil can work. Aleve sometimes works on minor pain. I won't take Tylenol mainly because (a) it doesn't actually work and ( destroys one's liver at disturbingly low doses.
  9. I'll take the advice of esteemed counsel over some bone-bender every time. The Eagle will be landing in my stomach shortly.
  10. Voltaren seems to be working...slowly. Wish there was a little sumpthin' else in it.
  11. Got it. Thanks for the clarification. And your English is fine.
  12. Cool. Makes me wish I had tried the Apple store again, but I don't think I would have received the sweet deal. What's the warranty like on those things?
  13. I don't know what any of that means.
  14. I have subscribed to your various newsletters and look forward to the reviews to come. Shelly, that Black/Iberian tristar is exactly what I want. Early this AM bought a Verizon iPhone for my wife for her birthday. Decent deal I guess, $199 for the 32GB because she hadn't upgraded her bb since 1975. I hope she likes it because she is such a bb addict. However, so was I and now I can't imagine going back. EDIT: And they're not shipping until the 18th and I can't find one in NYC with the same online deal so FUCK YOU Verizon and Apple.
  15. Yesterday went to doctor because I was concerned I was having another diverticulits flare up or possible appendicitis. All negative thank goodness. But apparently I pinched a nerve and my right abdomen, side, back are all annoyingly painful. Doc prescribed voltaren (super advil). We'll see how that works. Could have been worse.
  16. You've received plenty of good advice in this thread.
  17. I'm still amazed by your feat of identifying that dastardly maraschino in that otherwise delicious Hemingway Daiquiri. Shelly, I almost joined you in some Eagle Rare tonight, but the wine made me fall asleep.
  18. Just be glad that he decided to slaughter someone else.
  19. Daddy needs his whisk(e)y!
  20. Yeah, one of last year's Panny plasmas is what I'll get.
  21. Shite. Out of town this weekend. Enjoy!
  22. DACs...om nom nom....
