  1. Nice amp, but ridiculously large enclosures for a single ended headphone amp.
  2. Nice. I'm thinking of getting the 3808Ci
  3. Toshiba HD-A35 HD DVD player
  4. Kevin, I will never run K1000s, so I am looking to reduce the energy footprint of a blanced version, without a penalty in sonic quality. Which fets are the renasys? the "well you know"?? Cheers Pete
  5. Kevin, Will the DynaFet work properly at a gain or 4 or 5 for 60ohm headphones, with just two output devices per channel vs. the 4 per channel, shown on the latest pcbs over on headwize? I know your original sketch showed two output devices per channel. Pete
  6. I was referring to the gold-digger types (silver-digger, in this case)
  7. Hi Folks, Looking for a small integrated to power small bookshelf speakers in the Living Room. Currently have an old Denon integrated that just died. Looking at: Nad C 325BEE ($290) and Denon PMA 560 ($100) on Agon Any ideas on which would sound better, or any other low cost options? Cheers Pete
  8. Very artistic looking sub. Nice
  9. Some girls appreciate guys who will spend money on them for no benefit to the guy...
  10. sure it does ...
  11. Ella and Louis - remaster remaster - extra tracks
  12. And what does the extra expense of the silver conductor get you vs the copper conductor??
  13. If someone can hear a diference with powerchords, then the powerchord is doing filtering that the crappy psu in the audio component is not doing. Just get some 10-12 gauge powerchord at home depot, with some quality connectors, and you're done, $30. DIY rules
  14. Seems like your boss (CTO) there tolerates this kind of slacking... or maybe not.... You could always loudly tell the gaggle to "shut the fuck up cause I'm trying to work here", all strategically timed so the boss can hear it... Of course this won't endear you to them very much, but maybe you're destined for a top slot in the corporation, and they are the stepping stones to help you move up...
  15. what format do you rip them to (lossless I assume...)?
  16. Nope!! Just put on the old pair... wow! Definitely smooth in the highs, not bright and more bass. Hope the new ones get to sound like the old ones....
  17. Mogami recabled K701s driven by a Dynamite
  18. not really... The old pair probably have about 1000 hours total, and are tamer/smoother in the highs. Part of it is the tinnitus flaring up in the right ear, injecting some HF noise into the signal
  19. The new k701pair are definitely brighter than my old recabled K701. Must be lack of driver/cable break in... We'll see how they compare after 200 more hours of break in.
  20. Hey, that's a cool moving dot in your sig
  21. A bit more extended in the highs but smoother. Did not really listen to the stock cable much. Of course I am comparing the single ended stock cable, to the balanced mogami cable, so not all apples to apples. Decided to stick with single entry, as it is easier (does not tug at you as much) when I move around.
  22. Well its done K701 recabled with Mogami 2534 Neglex Copper Quad Mic Cable. Nate had a supply of it, along with the black 3/16" Nylon Multifilament techflex, so I asked him if he could strip the jacket and shield off the Mogami, and feed it through the techflex, which he graciously did Here are some pics (some not so good) of the job: Stock cable Mogami laid into the K701 frame Preparing the 4-pin XLR end of the cable A happy ending On the other ear phone there are two small wires which I have not replaced, but I may leave them for now.
