I have a gamma2 I have used with my SRS-002 (USB powered, have not tried optical with it) and have had no problems with humming. Try USB without external power.

Really look forward to see your build. Did you have a hard time finding any of the sands? I assume some of them are EOL?

It is high, and I wouldn't mind trying a lower gain. Has anybody done this with their HV?

Yeah, that's the one. I was thinking 41 mm would probably be enough.

I have a 39 mm Modushop knob. Would a 40 mm circumference cut out in the front panel be large enough for it to rotate nicely? I am thinking it may be a tight fit.

Approx 60 degrees Celsius on the amp heatsinks. One side a little less; the PSU is actually lower.
