Lightnin Hopkins - Blues Hoot (dcc vinyl)
mmm virgin
now
toe -- the book about my idle plot on a vague anxiety
I got my Heartbeat City Audio Fidelity CD today, can't wait to hear it! Along with The Band s/t and an MFSL and DCC.
I won't be taking it for a spin tonight, I forgot to print the protractor from VinylEngine
Oh well three new 45 rpm Fantasy LPs showed up today as well
I attempted it on rateyourmusic, but it's too much work
When I have all the music in one place I might try again. I have most of my vinyl here, but my CDs are scattered between my apartment, storage and my parent's house.
And that's when I came to the realization I'd rather have a lot of music I will listen to instead of hoarding rare discs and vinyl. I recently sold one of the first ever pressed CDs (a sampler) that draws collectors, but the music itself is pretty mediocre.
Buying binaural CDs is my latest kick
Collecting CDs is a relatively benign condition. After all the most expensive CD that I know of has only sold for around $5000. Records on the other hand...
My music collection is nothing.

I would kill to own a complete Japanese TOCJ CD collection, even though the 45 rpm sound better the TOCJs are so cool. Or even most of the first pressing Japanese CDs pictured. Collecting vinyl is a whole new level of insanity. I will have to snap a pic of my friend's 100 or so original Blue Notes.
You can also get a Mac Pro and put a Lynx AES16e in the PCI-Express slot for digital out.
edit: I have never been a fan of onboard motherboard digital outs. We did some listening tests using the onboard digital out of the Mac Pro and with the AES16e. Did the same with a PC running Windows with the onboard digital out on the motherboard (Gigabyte?) and the Lynx. The Lynx sounded better in both cases and though I do have more experience with the Lynx in Windows, I'm sure the Mac drivers are perfect as well. We didn't use Amarra though.
Morrison Hotel (US first pressing vinyl at Monarch, red label)
I did not expect this to sound better than the Audio Fidelity gold CD, but damnit it does
