  1. I attempted this today. They're ravenous mad out there! /goes back to the comforts of the internet
  2. We had quite the heated argument about KK doughnuts in Matt's car FWIW I thought those DJ doughnuts were better than KK too.
  3. sl-1200 mk2 in black, 100 Disckeeper Ultimate sleeves, Hunt EDA brush. And a lot more music.
  4. Spicy Italian on whole wheat. Yum! Enjoy the new found eatery Wayne.
  5. Traffic - Mr Fantasy mono
  6. We got no snow. I hear Cape Cod got 25-30"
  7. Absolutely, the Garden of Delights booklets are fantastic. For the most part I also enjoy inserts in classical and some jazz CDs.
  8. Not entirely related to the article, but I've noticed when I buy jazz box sets that include multiple discs of alternative takes or different live versions I find myself mostly listening to the original session. Bitches Brew is one of my favorites and I eagerly picked up the complete sessions set, but I keep coming back to the Japanese first pressing CD with the original mix. The box set is cool for the booklet, pictures and stuff, but I never listen to it. I think a lot of booklets and inserts are simply fluff, but one of the things I absolutely love are the large glossy black and white photos taken by Francis Wolff during the Blue Note recording sessions inside the Music Matters vinyl. It's another experience staring at them and wondering what was going through those musicians minds at the time they created such amazing music.
  9. I found this an interesting read and agreeing with the author on a few points. What a collector loses (and gains) in the age of music downloading - The Boston Globe
  10. Imagine a show down between the quad stacked ESL57 and Sound Lab Majestic 945 or Ultimate PX-1 in a huge room dedicated to just the stereo. Would there be any better way to spend time
  11. I'm interested in what they had to go through for matching and refurbishing eight panels It's taken from quadsunlimited.com the same place where Doug posted about the treble stacked ESLs. They don't mention anything about amps.
  12. I had to search the thread and make sure you hadn't already posted it sir
  13. quad stacked Quad ESL57
  14. More vinyl. Lots more. All jazz and Hendrix Axis Bold mono on Classic.
  15. finished John Coltrane - Lush Life (Fantasy 45 vinyl)
  16. I received mine a couple of days ago, but I'll be waiting until the holidays to open it
  17. Stardeath and White Dwarfs - The Birth another one of my favorites from '09
  18. Anyone that missed out on the Charlie Brown Fantasy 45, AcousticSounds "mysteriously" (cough) found another pile of them in their warehouse. The Fantasy sounds fantastic, did a short few minute comparison with the OJC CD; no contest!
  19. Fantasy 45 vinyl
  20. They've been getting hit hard with so many orders and projects. I can imagine that combined with the Christmas rush for all these new products is causing the problems. I was looking forward to picking up the ORG releases, Bernie does some great mastering. And they've certainly contracted some choice titles.
  21. That is a bit strange. The ORG are pressed at Pallas right? If so, Pallas is having some QC issues recently. Screwed up Neil Young 140g's and the box set. And the new Flaming Lips record had some issues too (also pressed at Pallas). A real shame since they're usually tops.
  22. If nothing else it wins best album art of 2009
  23. Is the record warped? Or some other anomaly (ie off centered pressing)? Sort of related, but how much of the lead in groove does the periphery ring clamp cover up? I have some records with really narrow lead in grooves (usually vintage Mofi vinyl).
