Why are you assuming it's in a thread? Everything doesn't have to be on the internet.
I don't think they're worth $1000. Just my opinion and I'm not saying any more.
If we're talking video card nerdiness I still have my Voodoo5 5500 sealed in box that I got with Best Buy employee discount. Not more than $20 I believe
If only it was a 6000...
I don't have as much experience as others in this thread, but cartridge rolling has made really big differences in sound. Bigger (different) between brands, but I've heard pretty big jumps moving up in the same line. Koetsu Black to Onyx comes to mind as one of them; both carts broken in.
It still probably sounds hella good since they are class A to something like 60 watts? Give me that over a tube amp.
Oh and Pacific Microsonics digital in that picture... ftw
If you're willing to boot into Windows, The Witcher is one of the best PC RPGs in recent times.
I liked it more than Fallout 3, and it smoked the stock version of Oblivion.
I've heard from a pretty reliable source that these SACDs haven't been selling that well. My guess is because they're readily available in many cheaper versions on CD. AcousticSounds has even distributed the SACDs that are out to resellers like amazon. The main selling point for the 45s was that original Blue Note LPs are now very expensive.
It's absurd how much cheap classical I can get that is in really great shape. It is much harder with jazz and rock (especially obscure psychedelic and krautrock). But still not entirely unreasonable if you know where to look online.
I watched a few video reviews of Demon's Souls. It looks nice, especially the online parallel universe. I don't know if I could take a game being that harsh on the player though \
No main rig in tx, so no music collection either. So in heavy rotation with the Nano/IEMs has been:
The Flaming Lips - Embryonic
Raekwon - Only Built 4 Cuban Linx… Pt. II
This is one of the best rap albums of the 00's and definitely in the top 5 Wu Tang solo projects. Even gives Cuban Linx Pt 1 a run for its money.
Girls - Album
Jonas Hellborg - Good People In Times of Evil
Jonas Hellborg - Art Metal
(two very good fusion albums)
Haydn - 12 London Symphonies (Jochum/LPO/DG)
Bong - Bong LP
(drone)
in severe hardbop withdrawal
I am reading on SH forums that the high res stereo layer on the DVD-A discs sounds very good. Too bad I am hopelessly lost to seeking out UK Island pink rim LPs
