New Woo Audio Electrostatic Headphone Amp!
WooAudio certainly knows to pay attention to detail. I bet the inside of the amp is as pretty as the outside.

Hehe the only thing the D2000 has in common with the K1000 is they both have a place to solder the wires.

Esoteric SA-50 SACD player
The music is great and it is meticulously arranged, but the sound quality has never blown me away. Let me add this- I have only heard the mono (obviously the reference) versions on headphones. This goes against what you'd think, but I've preferred the majority of mono mixes I've heard on good speakers instead.

Ehh, Pet Sounds isn't an audiophile recording, IMO the DCC Gold disc is fairly average in showing off sound quality. I can see Dreadhead being unimpressed Here is a sample from Miles Davis - Cookin' With the Miles Davis Quintet. 1950s hard bop, so maybe I'm shooting myself in the foot by saying this is well recorded (oh well at least it's well mastered) Send big files the easy way. Files too large for email attachments? No problem!

Your recent music purchases
I already have every limited edition Castle release. Mainly bought them because they are reasonably priced (compared to first and second Japanese pressings), have bonus discs with extra songs (though often times just live versions), and the sound quality is a hell of a lot better than the remasters.

Hehe, maybe half the Black Triangles. They don't come up that often on Ebay Japan and Yahoo Auctions. The sound on the Black Triangle discs blows away even the really good Castle pre-remasters. I'm going to start to buy more Maiden first pressing UK vinyl after doing some more research. collecting music

When you said "well recorded and mastered stuff", I took it as compression that isn't added by the hand of the mastering engineer. I assure you there is no harshness in the DCC CDs, and there wasn't any harshness in the Esoteric gear with them either. I just don't think the Esoteric players I have heard, sound natural tonally even with reference level CDs. The DCC CDs were made in the 90s. However the music on his current label- Audio Fidelity sounds just as good as those 90s CDs and they were released between 2005- present day.

Yes I know the image is grossly distorted, running a GIS I couldn't find a better image of a RBCD sine wave. The DCC Gold CDs use no compression in the digital or analog domain. You can pop into the Steve Hoffman forums and ask him yourself if you doubt this. You are correct I listened to the SA-60 and the DVD-V playing variant Dreadhead which Esoteric players have you listened to to defend them so much?

Would you consider music on the DCC label to be well mastered? I think it is, and it still didn't sound good on the SA-50. Maybe SACDs are another matter, I only tried RBCD. Then again it could be the Esoteric being true to the RB 44.1 KHz sampling rate in which case it will make any RBCD sound like shit anyway

This must be an updated SA-50? The one I heard didn't have digital inputs or USB. I also didn't think it sounded that good; far too unnatural tonally.- The Headcase Stax thread
The O2 headband elastics do wear out though, so it's probably best not to put strain on it all the time.- NHL 2008/2009 edition
I'm a long time Wings fan as well- What are you listening to Part Two
Wings - Wings at the Speed of Sound (DCC gold)- Buffalo32S DAC
With the Transit you select between the various sample rates in the software menu.- Buffalo32S DAC
XP (32 bit and 64 bit). Completely forgot about Vista- Buffalo32S DAC
With Foobar2000 you don't even need ASIO, you can select "M-Audio Transit" in the output menu and you automatically get bit perfect (tested with the DTS pass through track to a receiver).- Post the last thing you bought!
Which DAC/digital filter does the Weiss DAC2 use? Enjoy! - Esoteric SA-50 SACD player
