geez, you are probably right, as far as the CDP-2 and 99 go, as I can just keep AUX1 as the input. but i don't think you can select outputs, so the 909 would be received inputs from both the 99 rca and quadlink out, which i imagine would be a bad thing.

ah, right on. will do. problem is pretty much solved with the Y-splitters though. it would be nice to control my whole system with the one remote though.

To be fair, there are two things that could have caused my negative impression of the quadlink: 1) I was indeed running regular interconnects from the CDP-2 to the 99, then Quadlink to the 909, as Duggeh notes above. 2) The 909 truly hadn't had the time to warm up. I noticed improvements day after day for as long as a week after I turned it on. So how about this: next week if I find the time, I'll run an all Quadlink setup and compare it to my all RCA setup. Duggeh, do you know anything about the guy in Italy who makes/made custom Quadlink cables? I've heard of him but never found a website or other contact info.

The Live Music Thread
anyday was the highlight of the new orleans show for me. derek was actually named after derek and the dominoes. nice, I need to check that out. I should be seeing Derek again this summer at Wanee in Live Oak, FL. he's playing the midnight set on Friday.

Online file hosting
Sendspace has been my favorite so far. It has a nice program (Sendspace Wizard) that makes uploading easier. Still, 300MB limit and files don't last forever.

yeah but it probably uses innovative jitter reduction drivers that reduce digital motor driven pot jitter jitters by 100,000 jitterwatts.

Anyone who can compare GS1000 to PS1000
not so wildly speculating here, I'm gleaning that the PS1000 is more GS1000 then PS1. I was really hoping for the elusive combination of RS1/PS1 midrange with GS1000 soundstage and bass. but it sounds like the midrange will still be dry and sucked out.

lucky man! not sure if I'll be able to make the NIN show near me (Atlanta) due to a vacation day conflict at work. Caught them last year at Voodoo Fest in New Orleans, one of the most amazing live spectacles I've seen. Trent said this tour will be a bit more raw and off the cuff then the last tour, so it will be rad in a different way. And by all accounts Jane's Addiction is a sight to see live.
