The ultimate DIY? A Stax SRM-T2!
More stupid questions, What does one look for when hooking up a scope to the outputs of a stat amp / psu? I would imagine no unwanted oscillations and a clean waveform? What bandwidth scope is needed? Settings? Are special probe/input adapters needed for the high voltage? Is a signal generator used in conjunction? What type of signal is injected at the inputs - 1kHz square wave? It would be a big help to have an idea when it comes time to test this.

What design issues does the rev2 board set address / change? Are the crossed resistors now uncrossed? Is the DACT hole spacing footprint revised? Is the R identifier(s) nomeclature fixed? Are the Craig Sawyers capacitor additions implemented? Others?

The ultimate DIY? A Stax SRM-T2!
This reminded me, I needs to find me a compartmentalized storage box like the one in the background of the picture above. Dropped 5C today on EOL sand and T2 FR4. Still gotz a long way to go...

AKG K702 & The Toobs(?)
I love listening to my K702's through my tube amp. It takes the clinical edge off and makes them seem more musical. Ok I guess if one enjoys the euphonic sig and is willing to ignore the inherent distortion. Since my toober aint one of them $2K and up models and is made in China I wont say what it is here because cheap chinese tube amps dont get no love on this forum.

The DIY Electrostatic amp thread
The RLED is a red light emitting diode. In KG's designs it is used as a voltage reference as well as an operational indicator lamp. Be sure to buy the correct operating voltage spec for this part. I dont know what Justin used in his KGSS design. KG's original KGSS used 1.7 volt LED's. Lately he is specifying 2.1 volt LED's in his KGSSHV and T2 designs. The 1N914A diodes arent nothing special, in the KGSSHV, KG currently specs the Mouser p/n: 512-1N914A part. In case you havent seen it yet, basic KGSS info is available here: The LED's function in this circuit is explained in detail. http://gilmore2.chem.northwestern.edu/projects/showfile.php?file=gilmore2_prj.htm

KGSSHV, Balanced Dynahi Rev A and DynaFET board run
If I were to guess, industry standard for this kind of stuff would be 1/16 of an inch thick.(~.062)

KGSSHV, Balanced Dynahi Rev A and DynaFET board run
Yeah, but wouldn't you need more than eight pinouts? If they were to keep the devices "discreet" it would require 12 leads. Tying the complimentary N & P gates together internally would still require 10 leads. If the sources were also connected together along with internal limiting resistors, it could be done with 8 leads. The last two options would limit the use of the SOIC device for other designer's parameters. I'm a little drunk. I think I'll shutup now.

KGSSHV, Balanced Dynahi Rev A and DynaFET board run
Of course it's possible! Just put it all in a bigger box. Or if one wants to keep their outboard heatsink creation "slimline" they could do a two box build with umbilicle. (then hide that ugly, oversized psu box and voila! you have a purty little kgsshv amp, kinda like a bhse without tubes.) just my 2cents.... FWIW, my KGSSHV is a "big box build". It has all onboard heatsinks in a ParMetal 16X16X4 inch case. I just upgraded the wimpy dual 475V @ 100ma 4" diameter donut to a dual 500V @ 400ma 5.5" diameter monster. BIG overkill here, but more importantly, there aint no more room inside my case. Just to give you an idea of the spacial limitations for this build in a single case. Here I go crappin on Lil Knight's thread again. Sorry! ~125 KGSSHV's and counting....
