Work got our W2's to us (in electronic form, fully importable into TurboTax) yesterday and these days I don't have a lot of additional deductions or income so it's pretty quick and easy for me. Ah, yup.

Completed and filed my taxes tonight. I love having that done.

We have Lodge and Sur La Table enameled Dutch ovens and love them. I believe one is an 6 qt. and the other a 5 qt whose lid also doubles as a gratin pan. We do so much cooking with cast iron now that I'm not sure how we ever did without it.

No DL birthday cake but Debbie tells me they used to do a Dark Lord creme brûlée that was rather spectacular.

Thanks everybody. Having a nice calm night at home with some order in pizza, a few beers and maybe a cocktail or three. Other than my body giving me hell, I sure don't feel old.

Jim perfects the subtle way of calling me a dick. I like it.

^^^ Damn that looks good.

We saw Tedeschi Trucks last year in Chicago and we were blown away. Derek Trucks is the spirit brother of Duane Allman as far as I'm concerned, and Susan did some astounding guitar work too. Glad you guys got to see them.

2013 Tour de Cure Orlando aka Raffy's first local charity ride

Also late to the game, but in. Have a good ride Raffy! -
If I'm going I'll be driving down and getting a room. You would be more than welcome to crash. I can't at this time say I'm 100% but I'd say it's about 75% right now. If there is a room discount in the host hotel, that would be great. So we can keep this window open for now Jacob.

Happy Birthday Grahame. My apologies to the Monty Python guys but I felt it was apprpriate: Man: You sit here, dear. Wife: All right. Man: Morning! Waitress: Morning! Man: Well, what've you got? Waitress: Well, there's egg and spam; egg sausage and spam; egg and bacon; egg bacon and bacon; egg bacon sausage and bacon; bacon bacon sausage and bacon; bacon egg bacon bacon bacon and bacon; bacon sausage bacon bacon bacon bacon tomato and bacon; Vikings: Bacon bacon bacon bacon... Waitress: ...bacon bacon bacon egg and bacon; bacon bacon bacon bacon bacon bacon baked beans bacon bacon bacon... Vikings: Bacon! Lovely bacon! Lovely bacon! Waitress: ...or Lobster Thermidor a Crevette with a mornay sauce served in a Provencale manner with shallots and aubergines garnished with truffle pate, brandy and with a fried egg on top and bacon. Wife: Have you got anything without bacon? Waitress: Well, there's bacon egg sausage and bacon, that's not got much bacon in it. Wife: I don't want ANY bacon! Man: Why can't she have egg bacon spam and sausage? Wife: THAT'S got bacon in it! Man: Hasn't got as much bacon in it as bacon egg sausage and bacon, has it? Vikings: Bacon bacon bacon bacon... (Crescendo through next few lines...) Wife: Could you do the egg bacon bacon and sausage without the bacon then? Waitress: Urgghh! Wife: What do you mean 'Urgghh'? I don't like bacon! Vikings: Lovely bacon! Wonderful bacon! Waitress: Shut up! Vikings: Lovely bacon! Wonderful bacon! Waitress: Shut up! (Vikings stop) Bloody Vikings! You can't have egg bacon bacon and sausage without the bacon. Wife: I don't like bacon! Man: Sshh, dear, don't cause a fuss. I'll have your bacon. I love it. I'm having bacon bacon bacon bacon bacon bacon bacon beaked beans bacon bacon bacon and bacon! Vikings: Bacon bacon bacon bacon. Lovely bacon! Wonderful bacon! Waitress: Shut up!! Baked beans are off. Man: Well could I have her bacon instead of the baked beans then? Waitress: You mean bacon bacon bacon bacon bacon bacon... (but it is too late and the Vikings drown her words) Vikings: (Singing elaborately...) Bacon bacon bacon bacon. Lovely bacon! Wonderful bacon! Bacon ba-a-a-a-a-a-con bacon ba-a-a-a-con bacon. Lovely bacon! Lovely bacon! Lovely bacon! Lovely bacon! Lovely bacon! Bacon bacon bacon bacon!

As I said before Peter, you're a good cat person and your kitty knows you've given it a good life.

Cookware - questions, comments and information about cookware
Absorbine_Sr replied to guzziguy's topic in Food and Drink
I agree. We are using mostly cast iron - two plain cast iron skillets and two enameled cast iron dutch ovens. As mentioned above, the heat dispersion is excellent and they go from stovetop to oven with no problem. And cleanup is easier than I ever expected it to be. -
You're a good cat person Dusty. Good on ya.

Cod with a tomato, red onion, kalamata olive and caper sauce. And green beans.

Yeah, if the time permits I might want to try a few laps...
