Happy Birthday Marc!

The band was excellent and John was in good form. Unfortunately, after the Crazy Horse show a couple weeks ago and this show tonight, I'm about to give up going to concerts in Chicago. We seem to constantly be surrounded by people who spend the entire fucking show talking at the top of their lungs about whatever mundane fucking horseshit they think is important in their pissant little lives. We asked one pair if they would shut up, but there were probably 10 more people around us yacking away. It seems to happen all the time now and most people don't seem to care. But if I'm paying $100 for tickets, $20 for parking and another $40 for drinks, I want to hear the fucking band. /rant

Yep, I'd encourage this too. But you alone know the situation. It'd just be good to have some Monkey time. Oh, and I did get you 24th spot on the grid for the F1 race..... Debbie and I are both in of course. We have tickets for all three days of the race and will probably be at the track from about 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM Friday, Saturday and Sunday. We'll try to retain enough stamina to party in the evenings. We are driving, so we can bring 2 queen size air beds. And other things (beer).

Marc, we can probably bring an inflatable mattress or two if you'd like. We used one for the Chicago get together and it was quite useful.

313+3+24+3=343. 1st marriage 3 years. Dumb young kids. 2nd time went 24 years. Then I realized I should be with my best friend. 3 years or so now with Debbie. Not married but as good as.

Had an awesome time with Jim, Bryan and Allison last night. Many cocktails were consumed. For me it was a wet Martini, a Manhattan, a Dandy Lion, a Hans Gruber, a Martinez and finally a Pisco Sour. Add some Pig Face Poutine for base and it was an excellent evening of drink and conversation. Thanks for the invite Jim.

I'm shooting for 7:00, yes.

I run Windows 7 via Boot Camp on my 13" MBA and it is an excellent Windows box. I did try VMWare first, and as Jim implies, it was less than stellar. But give it direct access to the hardware and Windows 7 runs better than I've seen it on work laptops.

So weird. I actually saw a picture of this on Reddit today. It was of him, nude, sitting against the wall in a hallway with two cops nearby.

Went over to Bryan and Allison's for dinner. Allison wowed us with butternut squash soup, artichoke and asiago stuffed mushrooms, broccoli with garlic, roasted sweet and regular potatoes and black-eyed pea burgers with serrano peppers and a nice tomato salsa for topping. Everything was delicious and we had a great time. In addition, we got to meet their awesome dog Poe. Made me feel at home when he snuggled up to me on the sofa for a while. Got me thinking about getting a dog of our own. So thanks to my Lil Bro and his wonderful lady Allison. You two are the best.

Hotels are going to be a tough nut to crack because of the race. If Marc is not there we may need to be an hour or more away to get rooms and rates that are not astronomical. Debbie and I do have tickets for all three days at the track, but no accomodations other than Marc for the time being. I am becoming very tempted however to sell my race tickets because of the asshattedness that the race promoters are currently pulling. Long after the race tickets went on sale (at large price points) they announced parking prices - $200 for all three days. Highway robbery. Today they post the items that will be prohibited from the track - coolers, beverages, food, cameras with lenses longer than 10" and no video devices. Which could mean every fucking smart phone in existence today. And most of it is just to force people to pay their exorbitant prices for food, drink and beer. To say I am pissed is an understatement.

My guess is Massa will be staying at Ferrari. Or he goes to Sauber and Ferrari takes.... Don't know.
