I agree and that is what I have been doing for the past three years, but sometimes you have to learn lessons the hard way. I have gained more valuable information from forums than any retailer. But even on forums like the other place, you have to really analyze what and by whom you are being advised. In fact, the only thing learned from retailers is that how well I got snowed buy a guy with a store front.

Confirmed my suspicions as well, but what do I know I am just another gullible customer taken to the cleaners by a "High End" audio store. This is one of the many unfortunate reasons why I no longer frequent audio retailers, I have found them long on sales pitches and short on any worth while advice. Bummer, can't seem to trust anyone nowadays.

I would take the Dalis over the Merlins (at any price) any day. I have heard both driven with sources way out of your budget yet the Dalis kicked the heck out of the Merlins IMHO. I was shocked because the Merlins have a great rep but when I actually heard them, ehhhh. Again just my humble observations for what it is worth.
