Fudge, I just saw that 2001 is coming out on blu-ray in about a month. I really want to see that on HD with uncompressed audio!

I think there'd be other reasons besides piracy. Lets say you have two set ups in your house, one for you kids and one for yourself. The one for your kids only plays DVDs etc. You're probably right. I don't think there is a way to manually select they type of disks you want. I might just get a few movies on blu-ray just to see what it's like and then just go back to DVD permanently.

NO way. I'm not paying 450 dollars plus the cost of a blu ray ripping program plus the cost of a new hard drive just to fit the 20 GB movies on. I'm movie to Portland OR if a 6 months and need to save money.

I have my account set up for queuing Blu-Ray disks if they're available. Sometimes I don't want it blu-ray but it selects it automatically. Is there a way to manually change a queued movie from blu-ray to DVD? I don't want blu ray all the time because I just rip movies to my hard drive most of the time and throw them back in pill box so I get movies faster.

It's funny you said that. If you right click the cat and look at the properties and the file name you'll see that I named it "diabitiscat" after how wilford brimley pronounces diabetes in those stupid medicare commercials. "if you have diabidis or diabidis related problems..." that cat looks just like that horse fucker. Anyway I found out it a type of persian bred with short hair called an Exotic Shorthair or as wikipedia calls it "the lazy mans persian" since you don't have to deal with grooming it like you do a persian. It's a general rule of mine that if there are multiple varieties of something I want then always go with the one that has "lazy" somewhere in the title. I think I was made for this cat.

Does anybody know what breed of cat this is? I really want one.

I'm watching the first season of Buffy right now on my new high-def TV right now. As if this show didn't look AMAZING in standard definition, now it just looks too good for words. Just kidding of course, this season still looks like fried hell but now with more video noise from upscaling the 480p. It's still my favorite season of bufy.

Oh I see. Let's hope I never become deluded enough to think that I'll need one of those.

Yeah it can on the internet but my only credit card only goes up to 500 dollars. This was the best deal I could find locally. My reasoning for not getting a great LCD is that in four years when I'm looking for a new TV, LCD's will be miles better at around the same cost and the entry models now. I can live with a sub par TV for the next few years till then. Right now it's such a step up from my last TV that I've been on a 8 hour gears of war marathon just living it up!

I really won't worry too much. This is the only time I've seen this happen in the 7 or so months I've been a member. There's a lot of razzing going on but it's usually with out rancor.

So I finally broke down and bought the westinghouse 32" LCD HDTV. I really like it. It's about 450 dollars cheaper than the samsung with only subtle differences in image quality. You can tell if you scrutinize dark scenes in movies. Black is a little grey on this TV. I'm really glad I got it. I'm writing this post on it right now.

I love arrested development! That and the BBC version of the office are two of my favorite shows. That's why I feel so left out by not liking the american office. It just seems like I should like it. I'm going to give the second season of the office a shot. I also don't see why I should give deadwood a shot. A year ago I made myself a deal that I have so far stuck with. I started exercising for 1/2 of the time I spend in front of the TV. I went from 195lb to 175 in about 6 months. I'm going to be looking like carrot top if I keep all this TV watching up.

I didn't get past season 1. Perhaps I'll try season 2. I think they have it on netflix instant viewing too. I haven't seen a single episode of deadwood either. I was just thinking to myself today that I really do need to start waisting more of my time.

I'm not trying to crap on your show but I just couldn't get into the US version of the office. I really wish i could. I know so many people that love it but I just can't. I hate when that happens.
