John I think the M12 is a successor of the M51 if I'm not mistaken but the M51 is still available through many website at full price here.

Thanks for sharing. What's your system and did you actually own it for the length of time? I only have the M51 and Eximus DP1 and IMO the YGGY is definitely better all around. It matches very well with my Stax SR-009 system.

Thanks John. I realize that the M51 isn't perfect but I just love its "perfect" digital volume feature. I still do enjoy it but also have to admit that the Yggy is in another league. Only have 50 hours so far. @Audiojunkie Yes, but at what price?

Mike I don't think you will be disappointed. As is, it is able to paint a more realistic soundstage than my other DACs and that's tough to do in my book. The real test is how well it stacks up to my heavily modified SACD players.

My B-Stock Yggy arrived during the thanksgiving holiday. I do love the way it is able to render a the soundstage. It outclassed my NAD M51 even when cold. I wonder how long does it take to complete the break in period. Only 48 hours so far. BTW, you save $200 for going with a B stock unit. Mine looks okay but it has a visible dent on the side plate. Not seen from the front view however.

I mentioned the same thing on "what are you listening now thread". I have the Mojo for over a month now as Chord representative sent me a sample. It is excellent DAC/amp that really redefined the product segment. John, you should try the MOJO with full sized and harder to drive headphones. It is powerful enough to drive the HD800 and HE1000 really well. The A17/ZX2 > MOJO > HD-800 is a really good combination. I actually think that it is a tad too small in footprint. I wonder what Chord will be able to do given more space. The MOJO is pretty much the same size as the original Astell & Kern AK100.

I'm curiously to hear your full thoughts of this system Tyll. I sure wish that you spend a little more time listening to the system, but then again 15 mins of a private audition is really all you need any way.

Instead of getting a sub, how about go with a relative large speaker instead? I used to live in an apartment and I never bother with a sub but used a relative large speaker with large woofers instead. 5.0 for me via Paradigm reference system with no complaints from my neighbor.

I think they got pissed off that Dr. Dre stole their thunder...and decided to release an Orpheus II and make Sennheiser relevant again.

Or just get a DIY T2 and bring the SR009/007/HE90 to the next level.

Sony NW-ZX1 & ZX2 should be able to Tidal...then any iPhone and iPod touch can do that as well.

I think the amp also accept a line level input bypassing the internal DAC. Wonder how much is the mfg. cost for Senn...15k in total?

Probably a standard Sennheiser Warranty but at 50K it should come with 10-year power train & 100,000 miles warranty. I wonder how much better is this headphones compared to the original HE90 + DIY T2/Aristaeus.
