I have a 1 TB, a few 750 GB and a few 500 GB drives and some portable 2.5" like the 10 and 160 GB drives. I had the portable and 500GB drive fail, but one was under warranty . Glad you have Drobo and it averted disaster

Sorry to hear about that as well. Those WD drives are hit and miss. I have some too and they either fail real quick like yours or last a while. I hope you get your exchange quickly.

I haven't compared it with using the DAC to my computer and redbook yet, but I hope to do so soon . You should come on down and check it out . Great weather and fun audio gear. It's a win win.

Thanks everyone for all your help and input. I've decided to purchase the Cary 306 SACD Professional. So far I've been very, very, happy with it in redbook and SACD. It is just amazing and I'm hearing things in my old CDs I never heard or picked up on before. Thanks again everyone
