  1. That's sweet. Right now, it's not so randomly trashed.
  2. Nope (also have no idea where the camera is and no desire to look).
  3. I need to mess around with it a bit, but I'm pretty happy right now. I'll take pics when I clean up the mess all over my floor. Not tonight.

  5. I completely agree with you, and sounds like a great afternoon. The only problem I see with your reasoning regarding plot or point (or whatever) is that this is an audio forum, one place where people do get to talk about gear, and where it does, hopefully, matter. That's the point of this place (er...mostly). I could care less about what folks have, listen to, care about in their own homes, but when you post here, expect it to be taken somewhat seriously. btw, I think the K701s and the Darkvoice sound pretty good, too.
  6. Did you even have the Bailey? Mike, I just realized that I paid more for the Bailey than the Abbys. I wish you'd sold it to me as well. From the suggestions so far, the only two I own are the Barber (not in the mood) and this: I haven't even listened to it on speakers yet, so Duggeh ftw!
  7. Thanks, guy. I'm looking online right now for a small rose-colored whip. Nothing too heavy and with a fem touch.
  8. Hi, Micaela. I was wondering when you'd post since I've seen you online. Nice to have another woman here.
  9. I can actually do Langerado this year since my schedule change. Nice.
  10. Then we need to get a plan. Birthday boy should start getting this together now. Do you think we can get Gene in on this?
  11. Hi, guzziguy. Nice to see you here. I wish I could have been at the meet, but I'm trying to talk John into throwing another in February when I can get some time off work and come out for a visit. Any help in this area would be appreciated.
  12. I think he was being facetious. I've heard agile_one's Yammy a couple times, and like it quite a bit, though it seems to be pickier with headphones than some amps. I really liked it with the W2002, and I'm not a big AT fan (sorry, Nanoha). I consider my gear high mid-fi, and that's fine with me. Prior to my current set up, I really felt a lacking when I listened to music and it bugged me, but now, although I've certainly heard better, I don't think about it at all when listening. I just enjoy. Maybe one day I might get the upgrade bug, but other than a few minor tweaks, my headphone rig(s), at least, are fine with me.
  13. I'm going to disagree. People will obviously use what they have, but, again, if it isn't going to work, what's the point? Go get something that will work or why bother. With portable amps, it's actually fairly cheap to find an okay set of headphones, iems, or whatever that will give you at least a half-decent idea of what you're buying. It would seem that if you're interesting in spending that kind of money to hear certain qualities, you'd be interested in actually hearing what you're paying for. You're simply not going to be able to with some headphones, and you're not going to be able to hear the qualities of certain headphones if severely under-driven. It's a lose-lose situation. Trying to force feed anyone any opinion never really works, but when people start posting their impressions based on idiotic choices (I'm not saying anyone in this thread is doing that; they aren't...yet), that's when I get cranky. Good is only subjective once you've actually exited the realm of bad. People once believed the world was flat. It didn't make it true.
  14. I heard tyrion's a few times, both as a headphone amp and as a pre-amp to the F1. Really nice amp. Congrats.
  15. I don't own a watch. I can't stand having anything on my wrists or fingers, or anything like a necklace on me, though sometimes I try. I just end up ripping them off after a couple hours when I can't stand it any longer and losing them. Strange thing is that my twin brother has been collecting (as in a serious hobby) rare and high-end watches for about twenty years, with almost any of them being pricer than all my audio gear put together and then some. I tried to get him to listen to my headphones once, and wouldn't, saying, "You'll get an ear infection. Buy a watch."
  16. So, I got two guys from work coming over in a couple hours to help me out (actually, they just want to listen to my toys). Any music suggestions for my first run? I'm looking through my collection and can't decide.
  17. Ain't doing a Popeye when I can find cute men to do the work for me. I'm going to look for some now. One thing I can say for the old Popeye cartoons from the 60s (yes, I'm that old) is the music was great.
  18. The Bailey just arrived, but the lame Fed Ex guy wouldn't even help wheel it in with his cart thingy. I now have a 140 lb wooden crate sitting at my door. Must go scout for muscled (preferably good-looking) neighbors to help. Unfortunately, it's usually just me and the old folks hanging out around here during the day.
  19. It basically says that they're in the middle of a multi-hour forum restructure. He's making no promises 'til done, but he's more hopeful now than he's been since everything went kaput.
  20. Probably that "soft jazz" they used to pipe into my office on a tape loop allll daayy everyyyy daay. It made homicidal.
  21. Are you sure you're not confusing her obvious female attractions with anything resembling good music?
  22. Yeah, but they're perfect for the gym, when all you want to do is block out some of the horrible music blasting in and hear a little of your own. Plus, I've lost two pair already. They're also perfect for that.
