  1. Strictly speaking, it's the past subjunctive mood. "If JB were gay..." OH HAY look at the smiley I found:
  2. That's pretty cool. It'd be an ideal candidate for the Slow Forum thread.
  3. My problems are comparatively trivial to naamanf's. That said, three decades of mental illness is enough to grind the dog teeth of anyone's gears.
  4. Tony Benn
  5. Lots of groceries and building supplies I'm too tired to list. 8GB SD thumbdrive, $30, marked down from $100 2M dual RCA to 1/8" mini, Monster branded $6 (stop looking at me like that!) tried, but was not able to obtain, replacement bags for my 20 gal wet/dry vac. ditto for a pair of Koss Sparkplugs
  6. Me too. I pride myself in being one the particularly slow users on h-c (as exhibited above). Anime OS Horror:
  7. What I am saying is I posted it in this thread before, and it is now gone. Unless of course, I'm hallucinating more than usual.
  8. Funny, I seem to recall that appearing in here before...
  9. Amusing video, but WTF did that awful hip hop track have to do with it?
  10. What does Tyll carry in those side compartments during a 900 mile trip? Tools to fix the bike? Camping supplies? Emergency rations? No.... A stockpile to make a frat house jealous. Nice shots, what kind of camera do you have? Looks like a digital P&S with a particularly wide field of view. Not a single joke about this? I am disappointed in you, head case.
  11. M-W defines a sample as "an excerpt from a musical recording that is used in another artist's recording." Usually, samples are taken out of context of the original, and put to a different purpose. In this case, taking a verse from a song about madness, murder and revenge, and turning it into a reflection on isolation, loneliness and possibly lust. Artist: Diamond Head Album: Lightning to the Nations Song: Am I Evil? Lyric:
  12. A few more picturess from the first roll of Velvia 50: The only wrinkle thus far has been this: I am so pleased with how Velvia 50 looks when conventionally processed that I am now less interested in subjected it to cross processing. I am sure I will tackle that at some point.
  13. It was not the phyiscal or virtual location of the monitor that was the issue, but rather which monitor windows identifies at "1" or "2." This appears to be tied to the DVI outs, and isn't switchable. That said, I was able to solve the issue with trial an error. Windows does like to muck up the screen resolution. 0_o Owning a Mac laptop for a month now has not fostered any warm feelings toward my PC.
  14. Wow. That's pretty fucked up right there, dude.

  16. Apologies if this has already been posted.
  17. I have no idea, TBH.
  18. I have an AGP (yes, it's old) video card with dual DVI outputs. Currently, I only have one working monitor. Are the the outputs on AGP and PCI video card standardized with regard to the location of monitor one and two in Windoes? i.e. is the left DVI out (when looking at the back of the card) always monitor one? Unfortunately, I am not in a position to test this myself. I need the one working monitor I have to be monitor one on the first boot in this instance.
  19. Ugh. I weed-whacked the back 40 two days ago. I actually started it several weeks before, but house repairs and a trip to MV, not to mention this endless rain kept me from resuming it. I was chopping down weeds nearly as tall as I am. An alarming number of them were wooden at the bottom, which wreaked havok with my weed whacker. I don't use a line head, I have one that has three plastic blade. I went through two sets this year so far. I'm going to have to go back out there with a hand saw and take out a few dozen would-be saplings. There was more than a little poison ivy out there, and even though I showered immediately after I finished, using Dr. Bronner's peppermint soap, I still have a few itchty spots on my arm. Truth is, I'm rather lucky that's all I got. Home ownership is overrated. Land ownership, even more so.
