Didn't buy it, but I won a pair of Yuin PK1 at the Charlotte meet. The guy who has minimal use for portable earphones wins it, go figure.

The Audio Alchemy transport+DAC and Squeezebox were mine, feeding the modded Bada and Total Eclipse (DIY amp) respectively. The Ayre was hooked to his Bryston. We had to stack stuff up so much like that since ~90% of the table space was for manufacturers only, and members had to squeeze what space they could on the "buy/sell/trade" tables (and even then big pieces of equipment for sale that wasn't hooked up or anything got priority over giving members enough space to setup their rigs).

I bought a "big ass disc transport" and "superior vintage D/AC" from Hug & Dance Audio. This thing is indeed big... gonna have to rearrange everything tomorrow to properly fit it in. Needs moar blackgates too, plenty of space for them in the cd player.

Got an AKG D542 to use as a voice comm mic at the PC when I don't feel like wearing my headset. Also found an AKG mic case that was big enough to hold a pair of headphones.

What you can try during a time where the modem is consistently failing to sync is to plug it directly into the phone interface on the side of the house (either extension cord or long phone cord through a window), and see if it syncs up fine then. That'll help you determine if it's a telco problem or a house wiring problem.

Those things were way cooler when I was a little kid and didn't know how it worked.

Found out my drill press was about 5mm short of being able to drill some holes near the middle of an amp chassis.

I always thought it was over by that point, apparently there's more still going on that I wasn't aware of.

Yeah, but the cinnamon smell fades pretty fast and if there's any leftover on the metal or your fingers it starts smelling real bad.

Music also sounds many, many times better to me if I drift into a light sleep then come back into a half-awake state. I'm not quite sure why it is, but it's worked consistently for me every time I've done it. It's like a free system upgrade just for taking a short nap.

I think I went about 5 minutes before noticing the pad adjustments, but then again you probably don't start looking at how to disassemble a pair of headphones before you've even listened to them. With the pads all the way out, and headband slightly loosened by bending, I find the K1000 rather comfortable, just a bit unusual feeling.
