  1. Went to see the Wait, Wait, Don't Tell Me! show at the Nokia tonight. That's some good times.
  2. Massaman curry with tofu and brown rice.
  3. I already feel like I'm coming down with something. Pneumonic plague or some shit. Cough and cover!
  4. Looking forward to this.
  5. Toured another preschool this morning. You really do have to see these places in person, as the websites make them all seem like kinderutopia.
  6. I thought that was Fred Williamson. I didn't even know he was still alive...
  7. Have a great birthday!
  8. My favorite quote from Spock's Brain: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vzuXqzdYmTQ
  9. I can't believe I watched the whole thing.
  10. I scrolled down and realized I was on page 420. Then I lol'd.
  11. Let's do it! Shelly, I agree! Chard would have been wonderful...but I've been cooking so much I just grabbed the spinach in the freezer (horrors!), added some of my Italian olive oil from my recent garlic confit, and made it happen as quickly as I could. There's no way anyone would have seen fit to comment past the tenderloin anyway; I think additional effort might have been lost. Additionally, I can't keep cooking multiple elaborate dishes every single night. I'll slowly go insane (and quickly become Jeffy the Hutt); not that I'm too far from that already.
  12. Philip Glass — Kundun (Escape to India)
  13. Sous vide pork tenderloin (sensing a theme here?) with mah own rub, brown rice and spinach, with a tiny splash of habanero salsa. America, fuck yeah!
  14. Holyshit just got back from having dinner at n/naka in Culver City. If you're a foodie and you live near this place, you must go, simple as that. I've had a lot of fantastic meals in my life, all over the world, and this is up there with the best.
  15. Unable to locate AX so far. Will keep searching.

    It lives...again!
  17. Lemme go check on that AX for you...brb.
  18. Happiest of Happy Birthdays.
  19. I might have an extra Airport Extreme something-or-other lying about if you want to try an Apple router...I'll check when I get home tonight.
  20. Ok here's what happened with Liz & Dick: it sucked syphilitic moose wang. We drank, variously: (ok, that was a dare) then and some and a couple of None of it helped. Edit: I feel like I just wrote a head-case rebus--there's nothing to solve. Just write some text and insert booze graphics, and you get a narrative. This particular rebus was cheap, to match the program material.
  21. I just bought that bag in red a few months ago. It's made of win and smothered in awesomesauce.
  22. As an excuse to purchase a bunch of cooking gear, Thanksgiving isn't a bad holiday.
  23. Shit. I've been found out! No, kidding, what's the point in dropping names if I don't actually drop the name? I took freshman expository writing with Colson "Chip" Whitehead (he doesn't go by "Chip" anymore, ha!). At the time, I had no idea he would go on to write one of my favorite books, The Intuitionist (still his best, IMO). Last time I saw him was at our 10th reunion (um, 11 years ago). Yikes. I'm older than I've ever been and now I'm even older...
