  1. I always forget to do that. it's especially true if you are referring to the crates they ship in. despite Mikhail putting handles on it for easier handling, they didn't work too well for me. fairly thin rope without enough slack is quite useless when lifting a 80 pound box, especially if it's right next to the edges of the crate where your hands can gouge into.
  2. man reks, he asked you not to quote him on it and you jump right on it and quote him right away. I recall that part of the reason for the GS-X delays was to get the new modules finished so the GS-X can ship with those. the dynalo circuit is very good though, so not really a big deal.

wonder if the K701 owners at the saratoga meet will mind if I reterminate one of their K701's balanced at the meet.... I want to hear one, and balanced is the only way.
  4. that might be a problem... but you can keep it for a month or two. no forgetting to mail it back though. how much does it cost to send something around 150 to 200 pounds to out in the boonies from california?
  5. hey fellow SDS-XLR owners. I got back my balanced 010 cables from immtbiker so if PATB wants to borrow them he's more than welcome to. just pick them up at the Saratoga meet tomorrow. the black silver is a pure solid silver cable correct? it might be similar to the one I made from 24AWG solid silver wire in that case.
  6. I have an SDS-XLR you can evaluate. just pay for shipping and insurance both ways, along with whatever other fees there might be.
  7. I do like the two-tone design of my Blue Hawaii. black case with dual silver volume knobs. is your GS-X going to have pink paint to fill in the engravings too? that sounds like a great idea!!
  8. I was looking at the innards and I think I'll just keep my Balanced Reference. I like my pretty Vishay-Dales resistors. plus the PSU seems slightly more robust in parts used, although the design change might cancel that out. wasn't Justin going to release this with modules other than the dynalo ones?
  9. our meet is so cool!! we get to mess around with some Mini? amps that morsel's going to bring. I don't see any prototype amps making their Head-Fi premier at the Cinci meet. I'm so glad I get to go to the Saratoga meet and not stuck with the other meet.
  10. some dude posted this on some other random forum. perhaps if I didn't report the post to the admins there it would have lasted longer than 10 or 20 minutes? oops? oh well, we can still see it here, unless someone deletes this too. actually, I think they moved the thread since I can't access it anymore, rather than going to an invalid thread. (fyi this dude's handle starts with an "a," ends with a "k," and there's a "kwo" in the middle.) -------------------------------------- thread title: Headamp GS-X.. PICTURES! thread contents: http://www.headamp.com/home_amps/gsx/index.htm In my opinion, the nicest looking headphone amp ever. Seriously making me reconsider my move to electrostatics.. dammn. -------------------------------------
  11. you can't see the power conditioner, but no worries, I have one and it's part of the portable rig.
  12. I hear they're having one in Cinci on the same day, but this one in Saratoga seems way cooler.
  13. I hate bowls, flats for me.
  14. I like my bass. where's the option for "the PS1 and L3000 aren't enough?"

    yoyo

    aren't we all....
  16. I don't really care, but if I ever have time and find the DP-85 sitting next to a computer I might compare them. who are these people that want the truth about computer audio anyways? can't they do this themselves?
  17. who said I was going to use this sub $1000 DAC with my $20k SACDP? that's pretty silly.
  18. why would you need a uber transport for USB? actually, I bet he has access to uber computer systems with USB. which uber transport are you talking about?
  19. how about grawk does that instead? he already has a DA53 so you don't have to wait either.
  20. I think I'll start getting some interference and sound degredation issues at those lengths, nevermind problems controlling the source and amp from far away?
  21. my Accuphase DP-85 is too bulky to move around the house. I need something for my computer rig.
  22. sure. I suppose it isn't as cheap as I thought it would be when the shipping and transaction charges get factored in, but it's still reasonable. I'm also interested in the belt-drive CEC CD transport so if I get that later on I'm hoping it'll be a good match with the DA53.
  23. so I guess they banned neilvg too for no apparent reason, and now he's back to being unbanned after jude couldn't find a reason for his ban. perhaps some mod banned him for starting a R10 FS thread that other people spammed, just because they like to ban people.
