  1. guzziguy, its also available at musicdirect and elusive disc and any other vinyl store worth its salt. FWIW the Acoustic Sounds paper catalog is the best catalog ever in history. I get very excited when one shows up in my mailbox.

Elusive Disc also insists on an account first. Fortunately, MusicDirect allows "one time purchases" and I took advantage to that.

  2. Overall I'd have to say I'm extremely happy with the choices I've made and found no setups there I'd trade with.

I advise you to never listen to neilvg's electrostatic or Voltron's dynamic setups if you want to keep this feeling intact. I have a pretty nice setup and I'd trade it for either in a heartbeat! ;)

  3. Yeah, kind of like the GF with the bloated bottom, shrill high pitched voice, and tummy a little out of shape of everything else. Very satisfying. ;)

With the RS-1, I immediately noticed the shrill, piercing, hight pitched voice and that was enough. For me, the RS-1 is unlistenable. The HP-1000 is another animal altogether. I first tried an HP1 connected to Frank Cooter's amp. I've been in love ever since.

  4. It probably isn't the same, but Putumayo has a CD out called "Tango Around the World". It has examples of Tango compositions from many different countries. It's fairly well recorded too.

  5. My guess is it's simply pandering to the purists who feel like any connection between the two sides will result in cross talk, even if it's in the volume control.

This make sense to me. It would be easy to have separate volume and balance controls. I seem to remember it being done before. ;) This is certainly easier for the user and assuming decent balance and volume controls, there should not be any issues with sound quality either.

  6. Ha, I only know you as the guy who works at (insert company here). Just wondering, what are you looking for now?

Now I'm the guy who formerly worked at (insert company here)! Sooner or later I'll have to start looking for a new job, but not quite yet. I'll probably start just after CanJam. I don't want to possibly screw up my trip there.

  7. :doghuh: What APS are you referring to, because I have no idea which one you're talking about. I was talking about APureSound, who sold it as if someone was waiting for this thread to happen, or something.

APS is the local shortening of "Alameda Padre Serra", the street on which I live. I didn't think of APureSound and assumed you were referring to me. Funny.

  8. I'm a Knick's fan. =[

You have my sympathy. I think that you will have to have new ownership before things really get fixed. It's a shame what has happened to that franchise in the last 10 years or so.

  9. You should have given him OICDN's address, then let 'em have at each other.

It just dawned on me that this might actually be oicdn. He shows the same lack of intelligence and imagination both in playing the game and dealing with issues.

  10. Bitter? Not at all. Houston has been playing great and showing wonderful team chemistry. Chemistry is always underrated. They could go all the way with it.

Let me guess. You're a Knick fan. Or used to be anyway.

Until this year, Mitch has been an extremely mediocre GM. Suddenly he's a genius. ;) He has had a very good 9 months.

  11. That's right. C is the way to be.

These days I prefer to do OOP in Java. When I need performance, I'd go with C over C++ any day. C++ is so user unfriendly. I learned it well enough to do a major project in it once. Then I proceeded to forget it as quickly as possible.
