  1. Little Italy And yes, I get great satisfaction out of using the same ingredients as Al on this one!
  2. Vesper Cheers Jim!
  3. I'll likely upgrade. Maybe consider another carrier at the same time.
  4. Cool Al! I got the receipe here: http://www.quietdrinking.com/tag/cynar/
  5. Well, that and I already have a bottle of the XO
  6. Shelly, I need another cognac. I've seen that G-R. How does It compare with Maison Surrenne? (which we cannot get here, AFAIK)
  7. Aged cheddar and wheat thins.
  8. Nice! Almost made that one! Also, one for Jim and Shelly to try: The Kirkwood 1 1/2 oz rye 1/2 oz Punt e Mes 1/2 oz Cynar 1/2 oz St. Germain (Personally, I use 1/4 ounce here) 2 dashes grapefruit bitters Combine all and shake (recipe says stir, but I always shake my juice drinks) until chilled. Garnish with grapefruit peel.
  9. Found the Stork Club reprint and Waldorf-Astoria bar books for a good price and bought them, both nice hardcover editions.
  10. Decided to use the rest of the Benedictine on a extra large Cocktail a la Louisiane, with Cocchi Torino and Handy and two bar spoons of St. George and Peychaud's. Yum!
  11. Indeed. Even more if you count the number of wires going to each cup
  12. I guess I could hook them up to a distortion analyzer and be within the guidelines.
  13. Any idea if it could be the bulb?
  14. That's a big cocktail. I think Cynar might fit into that somehow as a sub. Nice!
  15. Man, this is a fantastic drink! (wish I had some Ritt 100 it's a good choice here, as it takes a back seat in this drink) Monte Cassino by Damon Dyer 3/4 oz Bénédictine 3/4 oz yellow Chartreuse 3/4 oz freshly-squeezed lemon juice 3/4 oz Rittenhouse 100-proof rye whiskey. Mix the ingredients in a cocktail shaker with ice, then strain into a chilled cocktail glass and garnish with a lemon twist.
  16. There is no way I could borrow something and not open it, so I'm out. Looks fun though!
  17. Nice, that last pair looks much better in my living room
  18. Vintage Silver Julep Cup from here, using "Ebay Bucks". Just one. But they look nice and seem like a reasonable deal. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=140602657243
  19. Heh, looks like something Mikhail would use (output "range" of 5v)?
  20. An Aquavit Corpse Reviver, which turned out very good.
  21. Corpse Reviver #2, a classic.
  22. Oh and. Has anyone found a non lame 'chocolate martini 'receipe?
  23. Ah. Yeah, i have some. What about brandied cranberries? I wonder if that would work.
  24. A proper caiphi. Yum. Aged cachaca is very nice.
  25. Ok, I've been meaning to ask this for a while. So, what kind of cherries are those? They are more like cranberry size. I mean, we only get Bing and Ranier cherries around here, so, why are they so small?
