  1. Nah, not really. Given the options and condition and accessories I probably paid a bit above market value. I'd never go back though, it's a really nice setup.
  2. The issue with that package is the three heat slugs under the chip. Depending on your thermal requirements, a custom breakout PCB is really needed. You can find surplus heat sinks with pre-tapped holes, check out EBay. Nothing new-stock though. You could look into some of the clip designs though, or using a single bar to apply pressure to a number of devices at once... Plenty of ways to get creative here.
  3. I did some similar tests and found that CA was better with the higher strength ryes. But I like Torino better in the average case. Me? a really really big Negroni: 2.25 oz gin 2.25 oz Carpano Antica 2.25 oz Campari
  4. Yup, that's what I've been told.. I can get the Seco here, nice stuff, but had a bad experience with the Marie Brizard Anisette, very very sweet stuff and am looking for something else.
  5. Mikey, what about the Springer 12 cask series, such as the Claret and the other 5 or so. Any experience with those?
  6. I might be be able to help, but it will have to be next week at the earliest. Too bad you guys cannot distribute some chinchon dulce anis to me
  7. Hfe is a real lousy test. Even lousier if you are testing MOSFETs.
  8. Well, no good updates. They did a craniotomy (?) and now have a bit more room to work with and an easy access titanium plate. My dad was on plavix and some sort of membrane formed on the brain that the surgeon is not wanting to strip, two minor complications I suppose. Waiting until tomorrow for another scan to assess progress. Thanks for the good wishes all. I am hoping everyone around here will sleep tonite
  9. Well, they are going to have to go in the morning a second time, he's still bleeding. Torpedo, I'd guess the injury was like 5 weeks ago. His blood pressure was unstable and they rushed him to another scan but didn't see that anything changed. More waiting.
  10. Vya, Dolin, Punt e Mes, Cocchi Torino and Carpano Antica are all suitable. I like the Torino.
  11. Well, so far so good. Yea, it was a subdermal hematoma. The surgeon said in was a couple inches (?) and once they tapped it it shot out like 6'. The surgeon said that he had not seen that much pressure ever and that it's a good sign that the brain will quickly expand back into the space. I guess we will know more in the morning. It's been about 3 weeks after the fall. Good thing he didn't have to get this done in the DPRK though
  12. My dad just went to the OR for a blood clot in his brain which seemed to result from a fall he had recently while in North Korea. The wait begins, but I'm very hopeful that it is indeed a routine procedure...
  13. It won't be long now until your pouring cocktails!
  14. It's a strong vermouth, like Carpano. I think in fact it's better though.
  15. Campari-Cocchi Torino-Gale Force Negroni Man, this is good.
  16. 3:2:2 Campari, gin, Cocchi Americano
  17. Hitachi doesn't make these devices anymore, I would doubt that they would care at all.
  18. It's very different than any Calvados I've had. It's very good, but it's its own beast. Very complex, has an apple nose but the finish is a date flavor with a mild burn. Maybe I'd describe it as the Lagavulin of calvados.
  19. GR apple brandy
  20. Start a thread, wife approval has been obtained.
  21. Well, someone had to do it: Bensonhurst 1¾ shot / 50 ml / 1¾ oz rye whiskey ⅔ shot / 20 ml / ⅔ oz dry vermouth (Blanc) 1 bar-spoon maraschino 1 bar-spoon Cynar Stir over ice then strain in to a cocktail glass. Garnish with a large twist of orange zest (oops!)
  22. I have a 5 bedroom place. About 15 minutes from the track. If you guys are serious, I'd host a meet. I'd ask perhaps to put up my wife and kids in a hotel, depending on the festivities envisioned. My place is about 3000 sq ft, lots of room for all.
  23. Yeah, the test is simple. If you bought them on Ebay, they are fake.
  24. Agreed, down with direct drive! I have the same table and think it is the best combo under whatever a used Space Deck sells for.
