  1. Power numbers don't really mean anything and this is paradoxically true with high efficiency drivers. Remember, it is all about gain and attenuation an how this translates to acoustic watts. That said, I wouldn't rule it out Throw some ideas out there!
  2. Thanks Nate. Go for the corners, WAF is high there!
  3. Yeah, I have a Krell KAV-400xi which is nice, but I'm thinking it's the wrong approach here. I have heard any MF gear I'm a while. They used to have the reputation for being decent circuits that were poorly implemented. Not sure if that's still the case. I'll look around locally for sure. Build, buy, it's all possible!
  4. Ok, barring total fail on being able to construct the cabs, the Lowther TP-1 Isis with DX4 drivers (not sure what phase plug) it is. 3/4" Russian Birch construction. They'll be nice and heavy. So, moving up the chain. Amp. I think I'd like an integrated, and the Krell seems a bit much for these. I'm thinking Pass INT-30A. Any other suggestions?
  5. Lowther DX4 drivers
  6. Just build the modified Singlepower circuit. I think it will sound better.
  7. Are you not using the APL much these days?
  8. I need bourbon too. And now dry vermouth. I'm going to try and grab Bulleit and Vya.
  9. There is at least one person here with these ingredients Try it. Drink the sweet, sweet cocktails! I think I'll try the fizz tomorrow, that looks nice!
  10. Wow! I'd be so in for that!
  11. Yeah, that's the artistic license part Also, Creole Shrubb is technically a rum. The Oriental is already a strange one. Any other cocktails that use rye and lime? That's weird to begin with. This is a nice one for sure.
  12. Yum! I cannot wait to get my new Armangac!
  13. (Not Quite An) Oriental Cocktail 1.5 oz rye (Redbreast 12) .75 oz curacao (Creole Shrubb) .75 sweet vermouth (Carpano Antica) .5 oz lime juice Shake and strain. Garnish with a cherry. Fantastic modification! The Redbreast really works here. Has anyone tried it in a cocktail?
  14. Out of Dolin Dry. I wonder if Vya might be a good substitute or just stick with what works.,
  15. Mikey, do you receive scotch from direct overseas sources? I found a cachaca website in Brazil that claims they can no longer ship to the US, which I found hard to believe...
  16. Scoff-Law Cocktail 1 Dash Orange Bitters 1/3 Rye (1 oz Rittenhouse 100) 1/3 French Vermouth. (1 oz Dolin Dry) 1/6 lemon Juice. (1/2 oz lemon juice) 1/6 Grenadine. (1/2 Grenadine) Shake well and strain into cocktail glass.
  17. Pisco Sour 2 oz pisco 1 oz lemon juice 0.5 oz rich simple syrup 1 egg white Angostura bitters Shake with ice. Garnish with bitters!
  18. Cocktail al la Louisiane 0.75 oz rye 0.75 oz Italian vermouth 0.75 oz Benedicine 2 dashes of Peychaud's Rise of Absinthe Rinse glass in absinthe, discard. Stir remaining elements for 1 minutes with ice. Strain and garnish with a brandied cherry.
  19. That was Dusty's idea!
  20. Yeah, I just wanted to see what ideas people might have. I'm considering the Lowther TP1 Isis and the Lowther Opus One The former isn't a true corner loaded design, as the corner isn't part of the transmission line. However, it's made to sit in the corner, just like the old school TP1. The later is a true corner loaded design..
  21. Yes, something like that
  22. cool. Another neat little platform is the NXP mbed:
  23. Yeah, that would be possible, but IMHO the above sound better than any Cains I've heard in the best case and is a lateral move in the worst case. Also, I am of the opinion that Lowthers work better in a front loaded, or mixed loading scenario, for the reason that recstar24 pointed out.
  24. Already have one of those mBVR is the general term.
  25. A digital magnetic inclinometer. $32 shipped from Hong Kong. http://cgi.ebay.com/Digital-Inclinometer-Angle-Protractor-Meter-Gauge-360-/190508634954?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item2c5b33134a#ht_3679wt_974
