Monster on the prowl again.
it's possible. i found a website that shows how to tell real vs. fake. it's all about small differences in artwork on the box, documentation that is/isn't included. absolutely nothing about whats inside the headphones

Monster on the prowl again.
lol, the company admitted to me they were fake. $75 for a sample. i bet these are all over ebay. who wants to chip in for a pair? maybe they're better than the real ones..

once you're rich you get free everything here you can buy cases of beats from China: http://www.alibaba.com/product-gs/376145047/Beats_Studio_headphone_beats_studio_earphone.html says $68-75/pc. real or fake? could be either one. at the very least they are not "authorized"

The ultimate DIY? A Stax SRM-T2!
i still have the parts, but yes i took them off the site because I almost got more emails from annoyed vendors regarding my too-competitive pricing than I did sales, which were almost 0.

Amazon.com: Ceramic Socket Cap Screw, Slotted Drive, #4-40, 3/4" Length (Pack of 1): Industrial & Scientific i really underestimated the price... but with no shoulder washer needed you can probably fit #6-32 in most transistor tabs

New RSA amp...
yes no reason it couldn't be used. even has a built-in balance control feature. on my upcoming Pico Power (18V) i decided against using the digital volume control because of the noise floor. The Pico Slim maxes out at 1.5x gain (same as the Shadow despite Ray lying about it being 3x) and people STILL complain about hearing hiss at max levels on the volume control. At a gain of up to 10x, which would be required to take full advantage of the 18V with low output sources, it would be a disaster w/ sensitive IEMs.

the yield on the pots without using separate left/right would be ridiculously poor. i doubt more than 5-10% of pots would be acceptable.

CJ, sounds like you were just doing what's expected in the real world. paying someone under you to do the work and then you take the credit for it.
