  1. I didn't realize that you can do two faces. The Dillons are opaque from the outside, and Dillon themselves figured it wouldn't work, but they certainly didn't have an iPhone X in hand, when I asked
  2. If anybody with an iPhone X also has a pair of Dillon Optics sunglasses, I would love to know if you are able to unlock the phone while wearing them.
  3. Thanks guys! And the blurry filter is just something you have to be born with, Jim. It's saved plenty of camera lenses, in my case.
  4. The battery tech is pretty mature, but I've seen Li-ion occasionally crap out well before their designed life. It's possible that the battery has bulged, which has in turn damaged the vibration motor. In that case, Apple would almost certainly give you a replacement refurb phone. You could probably send it to them. That way you could easily turn around and sell the replacement (assuming) and recoup some of the cost of the replacement. Anyway, I'm glad you were able to get to the bottom of the issue.
  5. To me it's really starting to sound like the battery has gone bad, for whatever reason, and iOS 11 is just a coincidence. I would make a genius bar appointment and have them test the battery.
  6. I miss rueben sandwiches. That looks like a nice one. I don't give myself cheat days anymore, though I did let myself eat some sessile (and thus almost certainly non-pain sensing) sea creatures last night, post-wedding, in the form of mussels. I wasn't too envious of Colie's escargot and scallops once I tasted the vegetable risotto I ordered for my main course.
  7. 11 has been great on my 6s+ and my wife’s 6s. The variability is weird.
  8. You've met me, Mike: the only thing ginger about me is the ginger I eat with my sushi. Colie is a ginger, yes. And thank you. Happy so far!
  9. Thanks everyone! Pretty happy, so far.
  10. Got married. It rained, and I blurred.
  11. Ugh, yeah, it happens. Apparently one neurologist I saw, who had been practicing or years, had never heard of a migraine aura, before meeting me. I mean, what the fuck?
  12. I'm a neophyte in the cat world, but I mean it with all my heart: I'm sorry, Carl.
  13. My plan is to trade my Ultra Thin in for a Chocolate 1931. I'm not sure when that will happen.
  14. I mean, that's one way to go.
  15. I think you have a '67-or-so Speedy to buy first.
  16. Nice! I adore mine. If you are interested in a Horween Shell strap for it, I'd be happy to put you in touch with my strap guy. I wear it on the black croc strap at formal events, but I find the Shell strap to make it an anytime watch. A rather rakish anytime watch. Anyway, congrats!
  17. Thanks guys. Well, I met somebody a while back, she asked me to marry her, and I said yes. She's too young and too good for me by half. And I do hope that this one sticks. Thanks, and awesome: good luck, Steve!
  18. I told my mother that I'm getting married on November 15th. It's a strange situation, due to custody, but if I felt right telling my mother, it certainly felt right telling any HC'ers who still give a shit about me, as long as they don't talk about it on FaceBook, or whatever (why would you talk about some guy, right?) about it.
  19. Try listening to the Ramones: you would be choosing between drums or guitars, on the earlier stuff!
  20. "some kind of conniption fit" -- around 3am? I call that the "midnight nutties". Most cats do that." "around 3am" wouldn't be entirely incorrect. I'm learning something about cats everyday. The "love-bites" made me a bit nervous, at first, but apparently cats do that when they are overstimulated, even if they are just laying on you purring while you pet them, so I learned that, too I think I'm now a cat-person, honestly.
