Yep, runs an embedded server on the resource constrained device itself. Use a USB stick / SDHC card and you have a fanless / no moving parts system.
2. Good News Ric! The answer is yes. I had to use dBpoweramp to convert FLAC to ALAC. Confirmed conversion using foobar 2000 ALAC Decoder. Copied files onto am 8MB SDHC card that already had bunch of flac albums. Inserted SDHC card into slot in touch. Touch sensed card, started up local Squeezebox server, from Settings->advanced->squeezebox server watched Discovering Files ... Complete Scan New Files ... Complete Artwork Scan: ... Complete The tagged ALAC files showed up the the right places (by artist / album / year / new music ) And played ! ( through a pico slim / JH-13 in this case) Internet Radio - (Radio Paradise / SomaFM / TSF Jazz Paris) isn't too bad, either. Enjoy your bargains 30% off'ers Note: it will work as another network player, for an existing Squeezebox server, and can be used as a touch based controller for them as well!
3. Lazed by/in the pool, then out to meet up with some fellow Brits and associated natives for an easy hike in a local state park overlooking the bay, where we encountered several deer and some wild turkeys just to keep it interesting. Then having worked up an appetite, on to an Indian (restaurant) for Curry and some Bistromathics. We bemoaned the absence of decent (or any) Onion Bhaji's on this side of the pond, and then managed to be the last group to leave, just before they shut up shop for the night. And it wasn't even chucking out time. Which is entirely the wrong way round!

9. Just before this degenerates into an entrenched Subjectivists vs Objectivists "debate", may I say Me, I'm a fan of the scientific method. If subjectivism works for you, as an individual, that's great. But, where's the predictive capability?, and how else do we get a feedback loop that improves stuff over time?
10. mmmmm, that could do the trick Can it be improved ? we can try Bacolicio.us ~Mmmm, Bacon~
11. Vicki, I think this calls for Bacon, in some form.

14. Congrat Nate. Never easy, or comfortable stepping outside your comfort zone. Change is good. Change can be scary.
15. Its the end of a era! World Cup 2010: Paul the psychic octopus is set to retire - Telegraph
16. I was more impressed with Paul's performance than the Dutch team.
17. Al, looks like you had a fun time. Seems like rather a lot of euro-socialist import firepower. Must be Berkeley SWAT then or
18. Cheaper on amazon Amazon.com: Power Strip Liberator (5 Pack) Extension Cords: Home Improvement
19. Very entertaining game. Does this cephalopod Paul the Octopus have a future in fund management?
20. Vicki, have you heard / tried "Squid" power strips? - none of your bulky wall warts get in each others way with this approach. Have a look at Home Depot or similar.
21. Flintstones marathon, eh? (see 0:35) Did you forget the Comma? ( as in Gay, Old, time)

23. This one? I think the JH-16's / JH3-A might be overkill for this.
