FWIW, I haven't heard any Benchmarks, modded or not, but I've spoken with a few fellow Bel Canto Dac3 owners. The ones that have heard the Benchmark didnt reach that conclusion, not even close. One guy was clear enough, in stating that in hindsight he would still rather pay twice the price of the Benchmark to have the improvement the Bel Canto offers, and that it was not a small improvement. As a matter of fact, he did just that, and purchased a second Dac3.

Contrastique, I cant imagine how annoying that must be. But thats the way the world is, I guess. My closest point of comparison is "I'd like to speak to the manager", and the manager tells them the exact same thing I just told them.

My favorite Maiden is spread across different albums. For me, its the long progressive stuff thats also catchy. Songs like Somewhere in Time, Alexander the Great, Hallowed Be Thy Name, etc.

Looks like it has an upgrade to 3GB of ram from 2GB. Plus it offers a better video card than the Dell. I had to add the videocard, because integrated graphics = fail. The card Dell offered was a low-powered Radeon ATI HD 2600 XT 256MB ($150 add-on). Not the card I would chose, but it has 2 DVI at least. Dual linke DVI, afaik. I'm not planning on gaming much with it, I just want to run 24" or 30" monitors.

As long it (UE10 or UE11) improves upon the e.530, I'd probably not regret getting them. They are steep, but so is everything else I'd get instead. It wouldn't be for at least a month or two, I'd imagine. Plus all I'd really be doing is delaying my other purchases, i.e. music, which I'd just get later anyway. edit: JBL, I've not heard the triple fi, but dont plan on getting them, as I'd rather step up to customs, I think.

I'm enjoying my e.530s recently, which has got me thinking about Ultimate Ears customs (UE10 and UE11) again. Has anyone heard both?
