Excluding the streaming, you've just described my current office rig: Its an HP 2133. I love it. Though I hardly have to touch it, once I've made a playlist of whatever I feel like hearing that day.

Until I move into an apartment, the rack would be going in the basement, which has tile floor, over concrete, irrc. I have a thin area rug; should I lay down some sort of wood floorboard underneath the rack for the spikes? Or some sort of spike cones? I'm not sure how level the floor is, hopefully not that bad.

So do these have much wiggle in them? I think I'd be worried more about level shelves than items being pushed off the edge of the shelves.

I've never had an audio rack before, and I think its probably about time I get one. My days of horizontal desk annexing have come to an end, now that I will be adding a transport, and, in a few months, possibly a transport/player combo, or just an upgraded player. My home rig currently a Bel Canto Dac3, an Ear HP4 amp, and coming soon, Oppo Digital transport. I plan on adding a Hydra conditioner as well. There is always the possibility that the HP4 will become my office amp, should I spring for the Millet/TTVJ 307A if it remains available. I have a Nordost White Light optical cable that sounded great, the last time I used it. I'll be digging it up to use again soon, with a cheap transport I just ordered. Optical cable quality is a heated debate with many, but apparently the plastic is not transparent conduit, compared to glass.

I'll have to do that I do love it, time just sort of gets away from you, if you know what I mean. I've only really done it 'properly' once; my relatives had a boat, where you go to a waterfront restaurant and hammer away at your own crab meat, shell included. Its funny; I've lived in MD all my life and have only had crab, maby 10 - 15 times. Go figure. Actually, I don't know if this is chain-wide, but Jerry's now offers a crab sub made with Phillips crab meat. Bloody expensive, but it is real crab meat, as opposed to that generic filler b.s. you see all the time.
