Half joking, and half not, has anyone ever heard the Magico Minis (either version)? Are they over rated audiophile pap or the real deal? There is a used pair on the 'Gon for $13k. Pricey no doubt, but possible, down the line.

Just read the review last night. Seems like it would be a great match for my source. Plus it wouldnt have the colorations that people always note with single driver designs. I saw this on Audiogon. I wouldnt be buying this audiogon set, since it would be sometime down the line, after purchasing an amp. But they look interesting. I'll have to research them a bit, and see if they would work in an apartment setting. Thanks for the rec's, guys.

I've gone to a shooting range a few times, and just rented a gun; no clean up afterwards Grawk, its a long shot, but MSAR in upper Marlborough had a used P90 for sale in 2007 that you could also rent and shoot It may still be there. It was going for $1500 if I remember correctly.

Whoa, good to know. Thanks. I'm not absolutely wedded to single driver, but I am more attracted to them because they work w/ SET tube amps. But basically anything the EAR could power well would be game, assuming it fits all criteria.

Yeah. I think I will get the amp before any speakers, because I will probably buy someones K1000 afterwards, now that I finally have the income to do so. They are rare, but I've seen them come up here and there. But thats definitely on the back burner. Maybe it will happen this year, maybe next; that type of back burner. ....but the amp will happen this year (or whatever amp I get, should someone sway my opinion to another design, but not likely)

I'm waiting till I move into an apartment, so I have the room. I'm a little intimidated about balancing leveling it and whatnot. I have a lot to learn.

I'm slowly working my way through the lot, and so far I have found my new 'desert island' album; Duke Ellington and Ray Brown This One's For Blanton. I think its the best sounding piece of music I have ever heard. But they all sound damn good. I am going to pay a studio engineer to transfer the vinyl of Blue Train for me.

I never heard about it; stumbled upon it from LastFM of all places. I was a pig in shit when I found it. I have little use for the other site anymore, save for PM sessions initiated pre-discovery of this site and selling gear. Its like discovering America. Except without Indian slaughter
