  1. That is one serious collection of goodies..
  2. Ok, I finished painting the case. I used Velspar primer and metallic spray and finished off with Deft lacquer to make it semi-shiny. Seems pretty nice. Fast drying and good coverage. Wood trim is Orange Agate.
  3. I have both but agree, Krylon is quick drying and pretty good. Rustolium is slower and the look is a bit rough. The Krylon gloss lacquer is also damn nice. Stinks to high heaven but very nice finish and tough as old boots too
  4. I have a par metal 20 series slimline case I need to paint so I got some primer today and will be using a metallic dark gray enamel paint to make it look sexy with a wood front. So I'll see how that goes and let you know the results.
  5. I just checked and it's an 8x gain board. I'll happily pay for the board if you have one. It looks like changing gain is only a few parts, otherwise I'll try to change the ground channel into a normal one.
  6. I never delved into the construction of the Beta because it's all a bit over my head. In the pictures the boards all look the same so I assumed they were the same. Me >
  7. It is the one that was the active ground, yes. it was the left channel board that went pop so I rejigged it as a two channel passive ground with the active ground board as the second channel. Are the ground boards different? I thought the three boards were identical.
  8. you can order this stuff online from Lowes or woodcraft etc. If you have a lowes or Home depot nearby they should sell at least minwax but also Deft lacquers and Krylon (?) and others who also make various finishes.
  9. Bleh, went through it this morning checking all the points and continuity and still dead. I have 0v dc offset, 4.5v, 65mv, LED lit, and I can still mesure DC offset at the jack, the board gets warm but no music. I swapped the board inputs too... nothing
  10. I'd stll love to get the board Nebby if you wanna sell it I'm hoping I can get it all fixed.
  11. Bah! I'm gonna do some troubleshooting of the simple stuff tomorrow and hope something obvious jumps out and hits me in the face. At least the S22 and one board is working right
  12. *UPDATE* So I have a kinda working B22 now. Of the three boards, one seems to be shot, two read properly but only one is making sounds. Great success! I dunno whats going on with the board that measures well so I'll dig deeper tomorrow, could be pot or input selector or any number of things.
  13. Well you can be both knowledgeable and still sell snake oil. Very expensive oil too
  14. x2, that does seem to be the intent
  15. The ones without the crappy pictures on them look better, though they probably still sound mediocre.

I want an HF-2 with the serial to match my IQ but I guess #17 is already taken
  17. I want but probably won't get because it cost five trillion dollars.
  18. yeah, but yours sounds more better and with bigger range and accuracy, and stuff.
  19. Yeah, a display? Pfft.
  20. I'd love to see this volume contraption as a pcb we could add to amps, ....with a remote
  21. There's always a winner, but cheating is naughty so intel was sent to bed with no supper for hiding AMDs toys and telling all it's friends that it was smelly. Not the first time intel has been slapped for being naughty to AMD I seem to recall.
  22. Siemens E82CC tube, ferkin sweet too.
  23. What he didn't say was that it's like 8" deep Seriously cool Justin, if it comes out like that it'll be one sexy amp.
