The vent holes are all open, the marble is sitting 1/2" above the vents and the sides are fully perforated end-to-end top and bottom. It's going to have a set of large vent holes in the top and bottom to ensure plenty of air. I've been monitoring the heat and it seems fairly happy though I am going to make certain there is enough ventilation. The original case has no vents in the base which I'm going to fix.

It sounds sweet and powerful, smacking bass and nice smooth highs, works extremely well with the orthos. Haven't tried the K1000 as they're out on loan for a while. Best amp I've heard to date. I haven't heard many upper end amps so I have limited experience, however, I'm extremely happy with it.

yeah, very hard to drive. Anyway, my Beta 22 in its generic steel case with canarywood and marble tile bling. Only bought the wood this morning and did it between shopping, watching a film she rented and all the other crap wifey has me doing It was a busy day using just the table saw and a sander/elbow grease. I coat of sanding sealer and two coats of satin laquer. Still need to do the sides and clean the rest up but it's working out ok so far. Never tried canarywood before, pretty easy to work with but has a deep grain to it so shiny finishes look sucky unless you have time to fill all the grain.

Saw their site a while back but closed it once I saw their prices. I think you need to be a *really* dedicated audiophile to smack that much down.

Yep, many put tweaks before fundamentals which makes no sense. I think a lot of it may simply be that it looks more impressive and therefore give that instant gratification and 'feel'.

Sadly, Nate is entirely correct on the mentality of cables Vs. actual gear. I don't understand that particular mentality myself but It is a truism.
